The Young and the Restless
The Mothers Without Children Club Comes for Cane Ashby on Young and the Restless — And Traci Abbott Has a Front Row Seat
Cane Ashby faces Amy Lewis and Nina Webster at the GCAC while Traci Abbott watches. The Mothers Without Children Club assembles.

THE MOTHERS WITHOUT CHILDREN CLUB COMES FOR CANE ASHBY ON YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS — AND TRACI ABBOTT HAS A FRONT ROW SEAT
TL;DR: Danny and Cricket finally remarried on Young and the Restless, but the beautiful ceremony came with a heartbreaking reminder that several wedding guests are now mothers without children. Amy Lewis, Nina Webster, and Traci Abbott have all tragically lost their sons and daughters, and seeing Cane Ashby waltz through the GCAC couldn’t have helped matters.
Cane Ashby’s 2 for 1 Killing Bonds Amy Lewis & Nina Webster
Young and the Restless fans missed Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford) and Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) getting to know one another in L.A., as this like so many events on Y&R, happens off-screen. Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Amy traveled to L.A. to bond on their own and added in time with Nina.
Amy and Nina were able to bond over tragically losing their sons when their sons were both on the Dumas trip from Hell in the South of France sponsored by Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). How awful…
Then how awful for Cane Ashby to walk through the Genoa City Athletic Club before Danny and Cricket’s wedding ceremony for Amy and Nina to see him. Yes, Cane Ashby owns the GCAC now, but he’s clearly not managing it. All Cane is managing to do at the GCAC is doing Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). How rude.
Amy Lewis and Nina Webster finally confronted Cane Ashby about their sons’ deaths, and honestly? They showed RESTRAINT. Do you think they should have slapped him right across the face? Email your hottest takes to [email protected]!
Everyone’s Favorite Aunt Traci Abbott Without Kids for Years
Traci Abbott is the sweetest soul on Young and the Restless. Try hard to find a skeleton in her closet. Her closet is as big as her heart, and it’s without a skeleton, which is wildly uncommon in Genoa City on Y&R. She did, however, tragically lose her only child, Colleen Carlton, many years ago.
Traci’s only child was with the late Brad Carlton (Don Diamont). He passed away tragically in nearly the same way before Colleen did, by drowning. Colleen was pulled from Lake Geneva and was put in the hospital and on life support until Traci had to make the toughest decision in her life. To boot, Traci agreed to have Colleen’s viable and sweet heart be given to the ailing at the time, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
The Silver Lining That Victor Newman Made a Mockery Of
Colleen was a sweet woman, yet rebellious as a teenager. She didn’t deserve to die so young, and her mother, Traci Abbott, certainly didn’t deserve to lose her. The only possible silver lining for Colleen’s death is that Traci can be supportive of both Amy and Nina, who are both going through what she went through all those years ago. Traci Abbott thought the silver lining would be helping Victor, but he has made a mockery and more of accepting that sweet girl’s heart.
Did you think we forgot about Nina’s son, Ronan McAvoy, here at Soap Opera Magazine? No, we didn’t. However, he is mentioned even less than Nick Newman’s son, Christian Newman, so there’s that. Ronan was never mentioned during the off-screen mourning of Chance Chancellor’s sudden death.
Do YOU think Y&R fans will ever hear about or see Ronan McAvoy again? And should Amy Lewis and Nina Webster have given Cane Ashby a piece of their minds AND their hands? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
