Cane Ashby’s Brutal Revenge Targets Phyllis Through Her Own Son Daniel

TL;DR: Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) wakes up after being chloroformed by Phyllis Summers and immediately plots revenge by scheming to form an alliance with Daniel Romalotti, Phyllis’s own son. With Lily Winters and the twins still missing and the fake kidnapping possibly turning real, Cane’s pitch to Daniel could be the move that destroys Phyllis from the inside out on The Young and the Restless.

Cane Ashby Opens His Eyes and Chooses Violence

The last thing Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) remembers is Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) standing over him with a rag soaked in chloroform. The next thing he knows, Newman Enterprises is gone. Not just gone from his hands. Gone from the entire building, digitally transferred into Phyllis’s name while he was unconscious on the floor. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) played lookout. Phyllis played executioner. And Cane? Cane got played, period.

But here is where things get dangerous. Cane is not the kind of man who licks his wounds and walks away. This is the same guy who operated as “Aristotle Dumas” for months, building an AI empire under a fake identity before revealing himself to the most powerful people in Genoa City. He is calculating. He is patient. And right now, he is absolutely furious.

So what does a man like Cane Ashby do when the woman who drugged him and stole his company thinks she has already won?

He goes after the one person she cannot afford to lose.

Daniel Romalotti Is the Perfect Weapon

Spoilers confirm that Cane schemes to form an alliance with Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) on Thursday, February 19. And if you think about it for even a second, this is a devastating chess move. Daniel already confronted Phyllis weeks ago and told her flat out that he would cut her off if she did not return Newman Enterprises. He drew the line. She crossed it anyway, and then she kept running.

But Cane is not just offering Daniel a business partnership. That would be too easy, and Daniel would see right through it. Could this mean Cane frames the whole thing as a rescue mission for Lily Winters (Christel Khalil)? Daniel and Lily were married. They have history. And right now, Lily and the twins are missing under circumstances that are getting scarier by the day.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) originally used Lily and the kids as leverage against Cane, staging what was supposed to be a controlled kidnapping threat. But a PI report showed Lily and the twins being led into an SUV, and communication has gone dark. By Friday, February 20, spoilers say Devon Hamilton and Nate Hastings raise suspicions about Lily’s disappearance. That does not sound like a hoax that is going according to plan. That sounds like something has gone terribly wrong.

If Cane walks into Daniel’s life with evidence that Phyllis’s corporate greed put Lily in genuine danger? Daniel is not going to hesitate. He already told his mother that if anything happens to Lily and the kids, both Phyllis and Cane will be responsible. Now Cane Ashby is flipping that guilt right back at Phyllis and positioning himself as the concerned father trying to fix things.

What’s Next for Cane Ashby and the Newman War?

Don’t be surprised if Daniel becomes a mole inside Phyllis’s operation. He is her son. She trusts him, or at least she thinks she can guilt him into staying loyal. But Daniel’s moral compass has been pointing away from Phyllis for weeks, and Cane just handed him a reason to follow it.

Given Cane’s history as Aristotle Dumas, this alliance pitch is almost certainly not just about saving Lily. Reading between the lines, Cane Ashby needs Daniel to help him expose or reverse the ownership transfer that Phyllis executed while he was unconscious. But if he packages it as “help me find your ex-wife and protect those kids,” Daniel will not ask too many questions about the corporate math underneath.

And here is the part that should terrify Phyllis. She built her entire takeover on speed and surprise. She chloroformed the only person standing between her and Newman’s systems, then carved up the empire before anyone could react. But she did not plan for Cane turning her own family against her the moment he opened his eyes. She thought her biggest threat was Victor. It might actually be her own son.

This whole situation has all the makings of a spectacular collapse. Phyllis is holding an empire together with duct tape and audacity, and Cane just lit the match.

Sound off in the comments below! Do you think Daniel should team up with Cane, or is this a trap he cannot see coming?
