Kyle Abbott Makes a Deal With the Devil Named Patty Williams
Somewhere in Genoa City, a common-sense alarm is going off, and Kyle Abbott is ignoring every bit of it. He walks straight into Patty Williams’ holding cell, the same woman who tried to murder his father twice and poisoned his mother for good measure, and asks her for a favor.
Patty, predictably unbothered by irony, sighs “You are not the Abbott I was hoping for” before taunting him some more. Kyle presses on anyway, demanding she hand over whatever ammunition she’s got to help him take down Victor. Somewhere, a soap opera writer is cackling, because Kyle Abbott bargaining with his own attempted murderer for revenge material is exactly the kind of unhinged decision-making this show was built on. Denied bail and locked up, Patty still somehow holds the leverage in this conversation, which tells you everything about how well this plan is going to go.
Do you think Patty actually gives Kyle anything useful, or is she just messing with him for sport? Send your predictions to amber@soapoperamagazine.com, we live for chaos like this.
Victor Newman Explodes at Everyone Around Him
At the ranch, Victor Newman learns Patty’s been denied bail and immediately turns his attention to punishing everyone else in his orbit instead. When Adam Newman and Chelsea Lawson arrive to talk him out of targeting Spectra-Charles, he growls “Another betrayal” before declaring flatly, “I want what’s mine.” Adam points out that literally no one in the public even knows or cares what happened, and Victor doesn’t care. He wants everything back, guilt trip be damned.
He’s almost delighted to learn Billy’s been offered a job at Chancellor, since it means Cane will destroy himself without Victor lifting a finger. Adam and Chelsea beg for six months to build something new before Victor interferes. He agrees, sort of, mostly because it means Chancellor gets weak enough for him to swoop in later. Justice, to Victor, apparently just means getting back what already belongs to him.
That fury doesn’t stay contained to business. When Nikki gets home from visiting Jack at the hospital, Victor asks about her day, already knowing exactly where she’s been. He blows up and storms out of the room without another word.
Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins Find Their Way Back to Each Other
At the hospital, Nikki Newman visits Jack Abbott, and he jokes that her eye bandages mean she’s trying to one-up him. She admits it’s been a long time since she’s felt this afraid, and confesses she’s not sure she can forgive Victor this time, since he’s the one who brought Patty back into all their lives in the first place. Jack assures her that he and Diane Jenkins are healing and that Victor didn’t win.
Kyle runs into Victoria Newman in the waiting room, pushing her on whether she’ll ever admit her father was wrong for what he did to Jack. She won’t go that far, though she admits she wishes she could stop her father from hurting people. Kyle can’t understand how the rest of the family keeps letting Victor off the hook.
Diane spots Jack holding Nikki’s hand through the window and shakes her head, though she joins them anyway, and Nikki tells her how lucky she is to have him. Back alone together, Jack goads Diane into climbing into bed with him, certain their son will be thrilled they’re back together. Diane isn’t so sure. Something about Kyle still feels off to her, and given what we now know he’s up to in a jail cell, she’s not wrong to worry.
Nikki forgiving Victor, Kyle bargaining with Patty, or Jack and Diane’s quiet time: which storyline has you the most invested? Drop your take in the comments.
