Matt Clark Pulls Nick Back Under
Nick Newman checks into the Park Motel and passes out ignoring texts from a worried Sharon Newman and Victoria Newman. The second he’s asleep, his mind conjures Matt Clark, who taunts him about loving the high and insists Nick secretly doesn’t want to get clean at all.
In the nightmare, Matt drags him into a joyride toward “the darkside of the moon,” goading him about being forced to play hero for the Newman family his whole life. Nick’s subconscious takes them straight to the Shadow Room, where the dream twists further and pulls in the people he’s hurt the most.
Sharon Newman and a Ghost From His Past Confront Him
Inside his own head, Nick finds Sharon high and stumbling, with Mariah Copeland screaming that he’s the one who turned her mother into an addict. The dream morphs Mariah into Cassie Newman, the daughter Nick lost years ago, who accuses him of betraying everyone she loved and asks if her death ever meant anything to him at all.

Nick Newman’s Family Turns on Him in His Own Mind
The nightmare spirals harder once Adam appears in the backseat of Nick’s car and starts choking him mid-drive, sending them careening off the road. Nick wakes inside the dream at the Newman ranch to find Adam and Chelsea Lawson screaming that Connor overdosed on his fentanyl and died, and the two announce they’re taking Christianaway from him for good.
Fleeing back into his subconscious version of the Shadow Room, Nick finds his dealer waiting with more pills, only for Nikki to appear and beg him to stop lying about his addiction. Victor piles on to call him a failure who’s wrecked the entire family, and Nikki, devastated, orders a drink of her own right in front of him.
The Wake-Up Call Nick Newman Actually Needed
Back in the dream at the motel, Nick breaks down as Victoria appears to tell him it doesn’t have to end this way, that being everyone’s hero for so long has worn him down to nothing. He promises her he wants his life back, right before a knock at the door finally pulls him out of it.
Nick wakes to a real text from Christian asking him to watch a movie together, a small, grounding detail after everything his mind put him through. When he opens the door expecting more chaos, he instead comes face to face with a neighbor asking if he has anything to share, a chilling reminder that his real life isn’t far behind the nightmare.
