Diane Jenkins has been telling anyone who will listen that she is done with Jack Abbott. She rejected Nikki Newman‘s offer to call a truce. She told her son Kyle that Traci was not wrong about showing grace but her heart says otherwise. She vented that Jack and Nikki have an unhealthy need to save each other and then she slammed the door in Nikki’s face and told her to worry about her own miserable marriage.

That was this week. That was the warm up.

On Wednesday, Diane will walk in on Jack and Nikki in a compromising position. Not a phone call. Not a hug that lingered too long. A compromising position. CBS chose that word deliberately and it means whatever Diane sees when she opens that door is going to confirm every suspicion, every fear, and every ounce of rage she has been carrying since Jack was kidnapped and Nikki became his emotional anchor.

Jack was held captive on a yacht with Patty Williams. He was drugged. He told Patty he was married and she told him Diane would never know. Jack is now on that bed. And Nikki has been the one constant through all of it. Their history stretches back decades. Their bond has survived marriages, divorces, Victor’s rage, and everything Genoa City has thrown at them. Diane has always known that bond existed. She has always hated it. And on Wednesday she will see it with her own eyes.

The Leap From Wednesday to Friday

Here is where the week gets diabolical. Wednesday, Diane catches Jack and Nikki. Friday, Victor Newman helps Diane give Jack a taste of his own medicine.

Two days. That is all it takes for Diane Jenkins to go from wounded wife to co-conspirator with the man who kidnapped her husband. Victor Newman, the man who stashed Jack on a yacht with Patty Williams, who used Patty as a weapon, who threw Nikki out of the Ranch when she confronted him about it. That Victor Newman is now helping Diane get revenge on Jack.

Picture the conversation. Diane goes to Victor. She tells him what she saw. Victor, who has been furious at Nikki for defending Jack all along, suddenly has confirmation that his wife and Jack Abbott are closer than anyone admitted. Diane wants revenge on the man who humiliated her. Victor wants control over the woman who defied him. Their targets are different but their weapon is the same: each other.

Diane Jenkins and Victor Newman at the same table, with the same goal, pointed at the same two people. Traci Abbotttold Diane to show Jack some grace. Diane chose Victor instead.

Nikki and Jack Have No Idea

Jack is leaning on Nikki Thursday. That is the logline. The day after Diane catches them, Jack goes right back to Nikki for support. He either does not know Diane saw them or he does not care, and both options are devastating for different reasons.

Victoria Newman is digging for dirt on Phyllis Summers on Wednesday, which means Victoria is on offense for Victor. Victor is giving his enemies a warning shot on Tuesday. He is making good on a promise on Wednesday. And by Friday he is sitting with Diane.

Victor Newman has been building toward something all week. The warning shot, the promise, the deal with Phyllis, and now the alliance with Diane. Jack Abbott is surrounded and he does not see it. Nikki is standing next to him and she does not see it either. The two people they have both underestimated, Diane and Victor, are now working together, and the combined fury of a scorned wife and a vengeful husband is the most dangerous combination Genoa City has produced in years.

The Part Nobody Wants to Say Out Loud

Diane Jenkins faked her own death. She clawed her way back into the Abbott family after years of exile. She fought for Jack. She fought for Kyle. She fought to prove she had changed. And she did change. But the woman who faked her death and survived on nothing but her own cunning for years is not a woman who forgives being humiliated.

Jack Abbott told Patty Williams he was married. Patty told him Diane would never know. Diane now knows. And instead of confronting Jack, instead of screaming or crying or packing a bag, Diane Jenkins went to Victor Newman.

That is not a woman who is heartbroken. That is a woman who has decided that heartbreak is not enough. She wants Jack to feel what she felt. And Victor Newman is the only person in Genoa City who wants Jack Abbott to suffer as much as Diane does right now.
