JACK ABBOTT IS WHY THE ABBOTTS ARE LOSING THE GENOA CITY DUMB AND DUMBER TOURNAMENT RIGHT NOW

TL;DR: Genoa City has a long and storied history of father and son duos making decisions that make absolutely no sense, and this week is no exception on The Young and the Restless. Nick Newman is struggling with sobriety and making dangerous deals, while Noah Newman tries to hold the line. Jack Abbott has Kyle Abbott standing right in front of him, saying do not do this, and is doing it anyway. We are siding with the sons. Both of them.

Let Us Establish the Tournament

This is not a new competition. The Newman and Abbott father-son questionable decisions tournament has been running in Genoa City for longer than anyone wants to admit. It is an institution. It has brackets. It has a history. It has an enthusiastic fan base that has been watching both families make increasingly questionable choices for decades and has never once looked away.

This week, both teams showed up ready to compete, and Jack Abbott is the reason the Abbotts are currently losing.

Nick Newman is struggling with sobriety. He is making dangerous deals. Victor Newman is questioning his judgment. Victoria Newman is confronting him about his recovery. Noah Newman is launching a defense against Matt Clark while his father circles the drain. The Newman duo is making dangerous decisions surrounded by real chaos with real external forces at play. Matt Clark is a genuine threat. The Smarties situation is a genuine crisis. There are circumstances here that at least partially explain the spiral.

Jack Abbott has Kyle Abbott standing right in front of him, saying do not do this.

And he is doing it anyway.

Kyle Abbott Is the Only Person in This Story Making Sense

Let us take a moment to appreciate Kyle Abbott because Kyle is the only reason the Abbotts are still in this tournament at all. Kyle asked the right question. He walked up to his father and said, point-blank, are you still planning to use Patty to go after Victor. That is not a subtle question. That is a son who sees exactly what his father is about to do and is trying to stop it with the only tool available to him, which is direct confrontation and basic common sense.

Kyle is buying the Abbott team grace they have not fully earned. He is the voice of reason in a family that has historically struggled to locate one. He is standing in the doorway, pointing at the problem with both hands, and Jack Abbott is walking straight past him into the bad decision anyway.

That is not chaos. That is not circumstance. That is a choice. A fully informed, completely avoidable, Kyle-was-right-there-telling-you-not-to choice.

Jack Abbott Knows Better and That Is the Whole Problem

Here is what separates the Abbott situation from the Newman situation this week. Nick Newman is in the grip of something real. Addiction does not care how golden the boy is supposed to be, and the Smarties have had Nick Newman in a chokehold that external forces made worse. The dangerous deal Nick is striking comes from a place of genuine desperation. It is still a bad decision. It is a bad decision with context.

Jack Abbott has no such excuse. Jack Abbott is a grown man with decades of Genoa City experience, a son who is actively begging him to think twice, and a front row seat to everything Victor Newman has done in the last several months, including the yacht, including Patty Williams, including all of it. Jack knows Victor. Jack knows Patty. Jack knows exactly how this kind of plan ends in Genoa City because he has lived through enough of them to write the manual.

And he is about to have a change of heart, followed immediately by a bad decision. In the same week. Back to back. With Kyle watching.

The Newmans Are Winning the Sympathy and the Abbotts Are Trying

Fans on social media are watching both duos this week, and the consensus is uncomfortable. Nick and Noah are in genuine danger. Jack and Kyle are in self-inflicted territory. The Newman duo is losing to circumstances. The Abbott duo is losing to Jack Abbott’s stubborn conviction that he knows better than everyone in the room, including the son who is standing right there telling him he does not.

Victor Newman has never needed much help making Jack Abbott look foolish. Jack Abbott has historically been very willing to do that work himself. This is not our first day in Genoa City, and it is not our first rodeo watching Jack Abbott make a preventable mistake while an Abbott who loves him watches in real-time horror.

Kyle Abbott deserves better. Noah Newman deserves better. The sons are carrying the weight this week while their fathers figure out how to be in a room without making everything significantly worse.

We are siding with the sons. Both of them. Full stop.

Is Jack Abbott the reason the Abbotts are losing the Genoa City questionable decisions tournament this week or does Nick Newman still have the top spot? Sound off below because this comment section is about to pick sides!
