She’s Got Him Right Where She Wants Him

Let’s set the scene. Jack Abbott is stranded on a yacht in the middle of the ocean. No crew. No functioning communication. No shore in sight. And Patty Williams is standing there telling him to think of it as a digital detox.

A. Digital. Detox.

Patty has been in some delusional headspaces over the years but this one might be the crown jewel. She was brought to this boat by a mystery man, told someone would be back for her in a few days, and has decided that the only reasonable response to being stranded on what Jack himself describes as a death ship is to put on music and sway. In fairness to Patty, she has always committed to a bit.

Jack, to his enormous credit, tries every reasonable angle. He points out he is married. He points out neither of them is actually in control here. He points out that something is clearly not right, wondering out loud if he has been drugged. Patty assures him he has not been drugged, which is exactly what someone would say if they had drugged someone. Just saying.

And then, because this is The Young and the Restless and subtlety has never once set foot in Genoa City, they end up on the bed together. Jack Abbott is many things but apparently he is not immune to whatever Patty Williams is putting out on a yacht in the middle of nowhere. Diane Jenkins is going to have thoughts about this. Many, many thoughts.

Did Patty Williams just pull off the most unhinged romantic scheme in Y&R history? We want your hottest takes, wildest theories, and most scandalous commentary! Send them to amber@soapoperamagazine.com and we just might publish yours!

Cane Is Having a Moment

Over in Phyllis’s empty office, Cane Ashby is sitting behind her desk, drink in hand, having what can only be described as a complete and total reckoning with every decision he has ever made. He writes Phyllis a note asking her to cut him some slack. He reads it back. He crumples it up. He drinks some more.

He makes a video for Lily Winters, telling her she is the only woman he will ever love and he has completely destroyed everything. He says his baggage should not be anywhere near her and she deserves all the happiness in the world. He screams into the void, turns out the lights, and walks out.

The man is a wreck and honestly? It is a little bit earned.

Nikki Has Had Enough

Meanwhile, Nikki Newman has come home armed with everything Diane Jenkins told her and she is done being kept in the dark. Victor walks through the door and she tells him flat out that she may not be able to forgive him this time. When she demands to know where Jack is, Victor essentially waves her off with a “who the hell cares, he’s fine” and a little goodbye wave as he exits the room.

Victor Newman doing a little goodbye wave to his wife while she asks him where he has imprisoned someone is the most Victor Newman thing that has ever happened and we are not okay with it.

Back at the marina, Billy, Kyle, and Diane are sitting in a car waiting for the office to open. When Billy bribes the manager and learns that a woman named Patty Williams rented the yacht, Diane and Kyle are absolutely horrified. They know exactly who Patty is, they know exactly what Victor has done, and they know that Jack Abbott is out there on open water with a woman who has never once in her life done anything the expected way.

Is Patty Williams the most dangerous woman Victor Newman has ever unleashed on Jack Abbott, or is she secretly his only ally on that boat? Sound off in the comments!
