MATT CLARK HAS SHARON AND NOAH NEWMAN AND IT IS HELL

TL;DR: On Thursday’s The Young and the Restless, Matt Clark pulled off the ambush he has been building for weeks. Sharon Newman and Noah Newman drove to an abandoned gas station on the outskirts of Vegas following directions they thought came from Nick, found no cell signal and no cars, and then Matt leapt into their vehicle and said “welcome to hell.” Meanwhile Nick is falling off the wagon in a bathroom, Adam is bribing Riza to flip on the entire operation, Cane offered to donate bone marrow for Malcolm, and Stephanie noticed Lily was surprised to hear Cane cares about her.

Matt Clark Got Exactly What He Wanted and Sharon Is Inside It With Her Son

Sharon Newman and Noah Newman drove into the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of Vegas because they thought Nick Newman sent them directions. The directions were specific. The directions were detailed. The directions led them to an abandoned gas station with no cars in the parking lot and no cell signal for miles. Sharon knew something was wrong before they pulled over. Noah felt it. They still got out of the car. Thanks. We hate it.

The text did not come from Nick. The text came from Matt Clark. Matt has been workshopping this specific ambush since he stole Nick’s phone days ago, and on Thursday he got the payoff. He leapt into their vehicle, smiled at both of them, and announced “welcome to hell.”

Reader. Reader. We hate that he got this line. We hate that he earned it. We hate that every warning Sharon gave herself in the car was correct and she ignored them all anyway because this is Sharon Newman and Sharon Newman walks into every bad situation believing she can love her way out of it. Noah promised his mother he would keep a level head. Noah had about fourteen seconds to keep that promise before Matt made it impossible.

The worst part is what Matt has been promising all along. He told Nick he was going to feed Nick’s addiction until Nick did not know his own name and then go after Sharon, Noah, and Sienna. Matt just consolidated phase two and phase three of his plan into a single car. He does not need to split his attention anymore. He has mother and son in one place and he has been rehearsing what he wants to do to them for weeks. Thanks. We hate it.

Nick Newman Fell Off the Wagon in a Bathroom While His Brother Tried to Save the Day

Meanwhile back at the Vegas hotel, Nick tried to resist the pills in the bathroom and lost. Thanks. We hate it. Adam Newman was on the other side of the door calling Sharon to warn her not to respond to any calls or texts and to stay in Genoa City. His message would have saved her if she had heard it thirty seconds earlier. She had already left Genoa City. She was already on the highway. She was already walking into the gas station.

Riza showed up for an update and immediately got cornered by Adam and Chelsea Lawson. Chelsea accused her of lying and spying. Adam threatened her. Riza refused to give them anything without something in return. Adam offered her a fresh start if she flipped on Matt. Riza is thinking about it, which means Adam might actually save Nick from this particular hell even as Matt is starting a brand new one twenty miles away. Thanks. We love the Adam energy and we hate that we are rooting for him this hard.

Nick staggered out of the bathroom high as a kite and immediately started threatening Riza with his brother. The brothers Newman, working together, yelling at a mob lieutenant, trying to save the family. It should be a moment. It is. It is also happening while Matt is three moves ahead of all of them. Thanks. We hate that too.

Cane Ashby Offered to Donate Bone Marrow for Malcolm and Lily Did Not See It Coming

In a much quieter and much more surprising corner of Thursday’s episode, Cane Ashby found Lily Winters sobbing on the phone with Malcolm Winters at the Chancellor Park Café. She tried to leave. Cane refused to let her walk away. He asked if Malcolm was sick. She told him the truth. Malcolm has aplastic anemia. Malcolm needs a bone marrow donor. Nobody in the family has been a match.

Cane offered to be tested.

Thanks. We love that we are saying that. Cane was honest with her about his motivations. He told her he is not doing this to win her over, even if that is what he wants. He told her he is doing it because he wants to do something good and because he knows how much the loss of Neil Winters still sits inside her. He told her saving Malcolm might help her with the guilt she still carries about her father.

Lily sobbed. That was the first thing she thought when she heard Malcolm was sick. Cane knows her. Cane still knows her. And when Cane left for the lab, Stephanie Miller pointed out how much Cane must care about Lily, and Lily actually looked surprised to hear it. Thanks. We love that we are watching Lily’s heart crack open in a cafe in real time, and we hate that we know this is setting up a love triangle with Damian Kane that somebody is going to lose badly.

Holden and Claire Are Having the Slowest Burn Y&R Has Let Happen in Years

Holden Novak is still reeling from finding out his biological father is alive and dying. Claire Grace found him at Crimson Lights and sat with him through one of the hardest conversations he has had in weeks. He told her he bought two baseball gloves after watching a dad and son play catch in a park. He told her he is angry at his mom for keeping them apart for decades. He told her he does not know where to go next.

Claire got it. Claire missed years with her own dad. These two have the specific kind of compatible grief that usually leads to either a great romance or an extremely messy one, and Y&R is taking its time on purpose. Thanks. We love it. We do not hate anything about it.

They ran into Stephanie at Society. Stephanie owned the lie, apologized to her son, and thanked Claire for being there for him. She also made it clear she wants Holden married off yesterday, because Stephanie’s mothering instincts have never met a boundary they did not want to drive a truck through. Holden and Claire ate fish tacos. They talked about timing. They agreed they are not ready.

They are also clearly going to get ready at exactly the same time and the fans are going to lose their minds when it happens. Thanks. We love this slow burn. Protect it at all costs.

Do you think Sharon and Noah are walking out of that gas station alive, and is Cane about to become Lily’s love story again? Sound off below because this comment section is about to light up!
