Young and the Restless Spoilers: Matt Clark Frame-Up Fears Erupt as Police Circle Nick Newman
Young and the Restless spoilers: Matt Clark framed Nick Newman twice before, and with Joe missing, fans fear he is lining up a third.
MATT CLARK FRAMED NICK NEWMAN TWICE BEFORE, AND FANS SAY THE NEWMAN BROTHERS ARE NEXT
TL;DR: A fan reel says Matt Clark will frame Nick and Adam Newman for Riza’s murder. Riza is alive and that never aired, but with Joe missing and a detective circling Nick, Matt’s history of framing Nick has fans on edge.
A Vegas Murder Prediction Rises Again
These Young and the Restless spoilers start with a fan prediction that refuses to stay buried. A reel making the rounds this weekend claims Matt Clark will frame Nick Newman and his brother, Adam Newman, for the murder of Riza Thomson. The fear is easy to understand: Matt has framed Nick before, and Nick now has police at his door.
Here is what is real. Riza is alive, and no murder has aired. The same prediction first made the rounds in early April, while the Newman brothers were hunting Matt in Las Vegas, and it never came to pass. What is new is the timing: Nick’s former dealer Joe is missing, a detective is circling the ranch, and Matt is on a highway with a fugitive. The week ahead is in the full two-week Young and the Restless spoilers.
That fugitive is Patty Williams. Matt left town with her on September 28, promising Victor and Nick he would try to get her to turn herself in. As we reported in Monday’s Canadian day-ahead, Patty grabs the wheel when Matt begs her to surrender for attempted murder. She tells him she would rather die than be locked up again.

Did Matt Clark kill Riza on Young and the Restless?
No. Riza is alive. In April, the Las Vegas poker queen from Adam’s Spider days was Matt’s partner until Adam talked her into turning on him. After the late April explosion that every Newman survived, Riza ran, and Victor’s security went looking for her. By May she was calling Adam to ask where Matt was, part of the Riza questions that followed Adam home from Vegas.
What actually aired in Vegas was worse than a frame. Matt planted tainted fentanyl where Nick, deep in his addiction, would find it, then detonated a bomb at the abandoned gas station where he had the Newmans cornered. They all got out alive. A poisoning that could pass for an overdose is a frame by another name, and that should worry Nick.

Matt Has Framed Nick Twice Before
Longtime viewers know why this one stings. In the 1990s, Nick went to prison for shooting Matt Clark until the real shooter confessed. In 2001, Matt came back with a new face and ripped out his own breathing tube with Nick in the room, so his apparent death would look like murder. Nick was cleared both times, but the playbook never changed: make the crime land on Nick.
Joe Is Missing and the Police Are Circling
Now look at Nick’s week. On Friday, Victor Newman had security tell police at the ranch gate that Nick was not home, and Nick told the detective that Joe got away. His bruised knuckles and a flashback to an alley told a different story, as we laid out when Victor turned the police away from the ranch. On Monday, Detective Burrow comes to the ranch and says Joe has not been seen since his run-in with Nick.
Victor backs Nick’s story and Adam steers Burrow toward finding Joe, but Adam also warns his father that the detective seems to suspect murder. Victor wants Nick home before something even more serious happens.
Here is the detail nobody else is connecting. Burrow is the cop Matt could not buy. In December 2025, Burrow turned his gun on Matt to arrest him, and Matt bragged that he had gotten to another officer first because Burrow would never take his deal. If anyone in Genoa City knows how Matt Clark works, it is the man now holding Nick’s case.

Why Fans Think Matt Sees an Opening
Matt is not supposed to come back; Victor says he was warned that returning would go very badly for him. But Monday’s crash changes the math. Matt gets a rude awakening on Wednesday, and if Patty slips away, the man who just preached remorse may have to chase her right back toward Genoa City.
Picture Matt Clark back in town while Joe is still missing and Nick is the only suspect. My gut tells me a man who once staged his own murder to bury Nick would know an opening when he sees one. Don’t be surprised if Joe turns up in a way that points at the Newman brothers, with Adam’s word to the police right next to Nick’s in the file.
Then again, on screen Matt is the one telling a fugitive to turn herself in. Patty is the loose cannon, and Joe is a mess Nick made with his own fists.

Nick Newman Is Doing Matt’s Dirty Work for Him
The Riza murder is a dead end, but the frame-up fear is not. Nick beat a man in an alley, then let his father lie to the police for him. Matt would barely have to lift a finger.
