Nick Newman Gave Phyllis Summers Until Sundown to Hand Over Summer’s Conglomerate

Nick Newman walks into the GCAC fresh off the floor of his own resurrection and slides up to Phyllis Summers like a man who has decided GRATITUDE is a personality flaw. Phyllis is appalled. She BROUGHT him back from the dead less than twenty-four hours ago. Nick is now blackmailing her for Summer’s Conglomerate? Phyllis calls him a drug addict. The Nick she knows would NEVER do this to her. Reader, the Nick she knows is in the next time zone. The Nick in front of her is wearing a Newman family crest tattooed on his sneer.

Phyllis tears up and tells him she saved him because it was HIM, not to barter her freedom. Nick says she could not be more wrong. He is grateful. The company comes back. End of story. Phyllis tells him he sounds like his father these days. Michael Baldwin intervenes and asks after his client. Nick is annoyed Michael already knows what happened. Nick gives Phyllis until the end of the day to make up her mind. Then he says he is going to lie to the COPS about her if she does not COMPLY. Reader. The man Phyllis Summers literally administered mouth-to-mouth on is threatening to perjure himself to send her to PRISON. Y&R, the dramatic irony has hit terminal velocity.

Phyllis Vents to Michael and Realizes She Might Be Out of Moves

After Nick exits the building with a swish of his cape, Phyllis turns to Michael and lays it out. When does this END? Michael tells her she already knows. She brings up the fact that she SAVED Nick’s life. Michael, gently, says it is not going to be enough to sway Victor. He says Nick Newman is doing what Newmans do. He is performing for his father. Reader, Michael Baldwin says Newman family dynamics out loud and we are NODDING through tears.

Michael asks Phyllis if she is ready to let the company go. Phyllis is sure they all resent her for winning. She cannot even enjoy the win. She admits, slowly, that walking away may be her only option. Reader, Phyllis is RECKONING with a defeat and Y&R is making sure she ARRIVES at it on her own terms. Michelle Stafford is doing her best work in this corner of the GCAC bar.

Nate Hits On Stephanie By Way of a Job Offer at the GCAC Foyer

Down the hall in the foyer, Nate Hastings runs into Holden’s mother Stephanie. She tells him Malcolm is doing especially WELL. They share a laugh about being doctors who get asked for medical advice at every party. Stephanie says she is worried Holden has not fully PROCESSED the paternity revelation. Then Nate drops a SOFT bomb. He has heard her name is in the running for Chief of Staff at the local hospital.

Stephanie was wondering who put her name in the ring. Nate confesses it was HIM. He turned the job down because he loves what he is doing now and thought she would be PERFECT. He is a huge FAN of hers. He feels fortunate getting to know her better. Reader. Nate is FLIRTING. With a CHIEF OF STAFF JOB OFFER. We have not seen this man this animated since his old job took him out. Stephanie admits she is not opposed to “exploring the opportunity.” Y&R, are we doing a Nate and Stephanie? Buckle in.

Nick Lays Out the Whole Plan to Victor at the Newman Ranch

Victor Newman and Nick Newman sit down at the Newman Ranch. Nick admits he has NOT been to the clinic Sharon recommended. They discuss Matt. Victor says Matt is so remorseful he wants to avoid punishment. Nick asks if Victor is BUYING any of it. “Good question,” Victor says, which is Newman patriarch for “I am not.” They cannot underestimate Matt. Victor does not know how to proceed. Nick lays out his plan. Hand Matt to Christine Blair and take Summer’s Conglomerate back.

Nick admits Phyllis saved his life. He gave her until sundown to hand the company back. If she does, he will PROVE to Christine that the incriminating emails were fake. Victor is HORRIFIED. “Why would you do that?” he asks. They cannot feed Christine fake info. Christine will not forgive that. Victor asks Nick the question that hangs in the room. Does HE think Matt should be punished? Nick has to admit he does not know. Reader, Nick Newman is staring down the moral compass he inherited from his father and finding that none of the needles agree.

Devon Tells Holden Off and Lily Tells Devon Off Right Back

Earlier at Crimson Lights, Holden Novak walked in on Lily Winters and Devon Winters. Lily took a call. Devon TURNED to Holden, looked him up and down like he was a salesman at the door, and made it clear the Winters family is not his MEAL TICKET. Holden, who has been on the receiving end of these speeches before, assured Devon he is not trying to force his way in and APPRECIATED the bluntness.

Lily came back, asked what they were on about, and Holden left. Lily then ROUNDED on Devon and asked why he was giving her brother a hard time. Devon admitted he thinks Lily’s logic about both Holden AND Cane is CLOUDY. Lily said she does not want to be STUCK in his anger and that it is bigger than Dom. Reader. Lily Winters READ Devon Winters and we are STANDING. Later at Society, Holden told Claire about it and admitted he is going to work to show the Winters family he is WORTHY. Sigh. The man is fighting for it and we are confused about how we feel about that.

Victoria Quizzes Claire About Holden and Noah Worries He Failed Sienna

At Society earlier, Victoria Newman joined her daughter Claire Newman and quietly DUG. Are she and Holden more than friends? Yes. Is Holden still keeping secrets from her? Probably. Has she stopped obsessing over it? Yes. Claire says Holden makes her happy. He gives her a LAUGH. He has shown her his vulnerable side since the paternity bomb. She can see things progressing when the time is RIGHT. Reader, Victoria’s “is he good enough for you?” eyebrow was an entire performance. Heinle EATS.

Across town at the Genoa City Shadow Room, Noah Newman is checking in with Sienna Clark about whether re-creating the LA club in Genoa City was the right call. Sienna admits her memories of the place are TAINTED. Noah is sorry he failed her. They wonder what comes next for Matt. Sienna actually felt SORRY for him in there. The monster turning into a man is GETTING to her. Reader, Sienna and Noah are doing the WORK and Y&R is letting them feel feelings. Imagine that.

Whose Wednesday move has you spiraling? Nick blackmailing the woman who saved his life? Devon warning Holden the Winters family is not a meal ticket? Or Nate hitting on Stephanie via Chief of Staff job offer? Sound off because we need to talk!
