IT’S TIME FOR NIKKI NEWMAN TO LEAVE VICTOR AND REUNITE WITH JACK ABBOTT ON Y&R

TL;DR: Victor Newman lies to Nikki Newman like it’s his job on The Young and the Restless. Meanwhile Jack Abbott literally sacrificed his sobriety to save her life. It’s time for Nikki to walk away from Victor for good and reunite with the man who has always been there for her.

Victor’s Most Famous Dead Horse Has Been Beaten, Darling Nikki

It’s time. It’s past time for Victor and Nikki Newman to get divorced again on The Young and the Restless. Not only is it time for this legacy couple to split for the umpteenth time, but it’s time for Nikki to reunite with Jack Abbott. Jack continues to be Nikki’s ride or die, while Victor Newman only wants to ride where he wants to ride, however fast, to wherever he wants to go. Nikki deserves better.

All Victor does, all the livelong day, is beat dead horses. Too bad for fans, The Mustache has TOO many dead horses to count. Victor lies to his darling wife Nikki like it’s his job. Nikki mostly knows he’s lying, but she’s in love. Next thing Nikki knows, Victor’s lying again, and she confides in her loyal friend and ex-husband, Smilin’ Jack Abbott. Nikki and Jack may or may not hug, and Victor may or may not see them. Then, rinse and repeat. Over and over and over.

Jack Abbott Saved Nikki, Victor’s Jealous, No One Can Move On

With all the recent kidnappings on The Young and the Restless, some fans may have forgotten when Claire Grace and her Aunt Jordan kidnapped Nikki Newman. The entire kidnapping was designed to get Nikki back on her favorite sauce: Triple Distilled Vodka.

Back on the sauce meant back to her darkest days, which meant back to confiding in old friends like Jack. One particularly bad night at the Genoa City Athletic Club, Nikki was too drunk to stand, let alone make it home safely. She took a suite at the club and called Jack for help.

What Jack did next is the kind of love Victor will never understand. Jack intentionally relapsed on pain pills right in front of Nikki to show her what she was doing to herself. He sacrificed his own sobriety โ€” put himself back into the hell of addiction โ€” to give Nikki a mirror. And it worked. Seeing Jack in that state pulled Nikki out of her spiral. She called for help. The paramedics came. And then Victor showed up.

Jack Abbott literally risked everything to save Nikki when she needed him most. Victor? Victor is still seething that Nikki called Jack instead of him. He’s furious that Jack was the one who showed up, the one who made the ultimate sacrifice. This is Victor’s most beaten dead horse, and he will not let it go.

Victor Hates Jack, Nikki Loves Jack, It’s Time

No matter how much Victor hates Jack, Nikki Newman loves Jack Abbott. They are always in touch. They stop by one another’s homes to visit. They meet for meals in Genoa City. And no one can forget about their hugs โ€” those lingering, meaningful hugs that say more than words ever could.

Victor doesn’t respect Nikki. He doesn’t respect anyone, really. Nikki recently threatened to leave Victor, and he didn’t care. He didn’t fight for her. He didn’t apologize. He just didn’t care.

It’s time for Nikki to walk away from Victor Newman for good. It’s time for her to reunite with the man who has always been there for her, the man who would sacrifice his own sobriety to save her life. Jack Abbott has proven time and time again that he’s Nikki’s true partner.

It’s time, Y&R. Make it happen.
