Patty Williams Hits Speed Dial the Second Matt Clark Walks Away

Matt Clark and Patty Williams sit on a Chancellor Park bench for a chat that he thinks is about gratitude. Patty inspects the bump on his head from where Phyllis hit him with a water bottle and reminds him he should never have trusted her. Matt agrees. He has zero memory. He has zero attachments to anyone in town. His life as Patty has described it sounds like a NIGHTMARE. He is feeling alone, lost, and increasingly suspicious of the woman currently flirting with him on a public park bench.

Patty leans in. She tells him she is the one good reason for him to stick around. He notices the flirting and gently sidesteps it. He thanks her for the rescue. He says he thinks he is going to be better off on his own. He walks away. Patty Williams sits there for approximately four seconds before pulling out the phone, dialing Victor Newman, and asking if he might still be in the market for Matt Clark. Reader. The PIVOT. Patty Williams went from rescuer to vengeance machine in the time it takes to refill a coffee. The CALL came from inside the friendship.

Phyllis Stares Down the End of Her Empire at Summer’s Conglomerate

Phyllis Summers arrives at her own office to find Lauren Fenmore actively going through her desk and on the phone with Michael Baldwin. Phyllis lays out the situation. Matt is gone. The leverage is gone. The deal is gone. Patty has, in Phyllis’s analysis, STOLEN her idea and is going to hand Matt to the cops for credit. Reader, Patty Williams has not actually done that, but Phyllis’s gut on this one is closer than she thinks. The girlies are TUNED.

Lauren tells her there is another option that may not involve anyone going to prison. She urges Phyllis to take Victor’s deal and walk free. Phyllis says she would walk away with NOTHING. She is never giving up. Then Michael storms in, bellowing for his wife until he clocks Phyllis in the room. Lauren tells Phyllis the time has come to accept defeat. Phyllis stares at both of them like they have personally hidden Matt under a sofa cushion. Bring popcorn.

Jack Offers to Sponsor Nick and Then Quietly Admits to Kyle He Embellished

At Society, Nikki Newman is reeling from the Patty bombshell. She tells Jack Abbott Victor might as well have done the drugging himself. She is convinced Patty Williams chose to drug him on her own dime, but the FACT that Victor hired her at all has cracked something in her. Jack offers to be Nick’s official sponsor. Nikki takes his hand and tells him he is an exceptional person. She walks out lighter than she came in.

Then Kyle Abbott walks back in. Jack confesses that he MAY have embellished Victor’s role to push Nikki out of the marriage. Reader. READER. Jack Abbott has outed himself to his own son as a manipulator who is using Nikki’s broken heart as a battering ram against Victor. Peter Bergman is COOKING. The man is playing the long game and we are sweating.

Nikki Tells Michael at the GCAC That Things May Be Beyond Repair

After Society, Nikki walks into the GCAC and clocks Michael day-drinking at the bar. He waves her over. Michael, ever the closet romantic, tries to convince her that losing the company has BROKEN Victor in a way Michael never thought possible. Nikki says Victor knows exactly who he is hurting and does not care. Michael tells her every time she defends Jack, she sticks a dagger in Victor’s heart.

Nikki admits something out loud for the first time. Things with Victor may be IRREPARABLE. There may be no going back. Reader, Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott have been doing this for forty-four years and they have NEVER let us down. Y&R is asking us to consider that this marriage might actually end. We are listening.

Holden and Claire Take a Detour Before the Hospital in New York

Up in New York, Holden Novak and Claire Newman make out in his hotel suite. He gets a text from his mother. Malcolm Winters is ready for visitors. He considers the situation, looks at Claire in his new jacket, and decides the hospital can wait twenty minutes. They rip off their clothes. Claire throws her hair around. They have sex.

After, Claire models the jacket while pouring herself a glass of water because that is the energy. Holden admits this is the LAST thing he expected to happen this trip. Claire says ditto. He showers, gets dressed, and promises to be back soon. Claire sits in bed and calls her mother. Reader, the writers said you can have a hospital storyline AND a hotel room storyline AND a vintage motorcycle jacket arc all in one episode. The Y&R economy is BOOMING.

Jack Comes Home to a Bouquet From the Woman He Recruited

Back at the Abbott Estate, Jack and Kyle walk in and clock a fresh arrangement of flowers on the table. They are from Patty. Reader. PATTY. Jack pulled this woman into a revenge plot against Victor twenty-four hours ago and she has already sent him a BOUQUET. Jack worries about what he has unleashed. Kyle, who tried to warn him approximately seven episodes ago, says nothing. We hear that silence loud and clear. Bring the receipts because Jack Abbott may have made the worst executive decision of his year.

Whose Friday move has you screaming? Patty selling out Matt the second he walked away? Phyllis losing her whole empire? Or Jack confessing to Kyle that he embellished to push Nikki out of her marriage? Sound off because we need to talk!
