SALLY SPECTRA COULD GO INTO LABOR AT HER WEDDING, AND ADAM NEWMAN ONCE DELIVERED BILLY ABBOTT’S SON

TL;DR: Will Sally Spectra give birth at her wedding? Jason Thompson says Billy and Sally have a newborn “very, very quickly after saying ‘I do,'” and the wedding runs Friday, October 16 to Monday, October 19. If the baby comes during the celebration, Adam Newman, Chelsea’s date, could be the one who delivers it. He delivered Billy’s son in a cabin in 2012, and there’s no doctor on the published guest list.

Sally’s Baby Doesn’t Wait Long After “I Do,” and Adam Is Expected at the Wedding

Young and the Restless spoilers have fans asking two questions about the Gatsby wedding of the year. Will Sally Spectra give birth at her wedding to Billy Abbott, and could Adam Newman be the man who delivers the baby? The clock says it’s close. The wedding kicks off Friday, October 16 and wraps Monday, October 19, and Jason Thompson, who plays Billy, says the couple has “a newborn very, very quickly after saying ‘I do,’ so there’s no time to be boring.”

Adam is expected at the wedding as the date of bridesmaid Chelsea Lawson, and he has done this before. On Monday, April 9, 2012, he pulled a pregnant Chelsea out of an icy pond, delivered her son in a cabin and cut the cord. That boy is Billy’s son, Johnny Abbott. Now look at the published guest list for this wedding: there isn’t a doctor on it.

Nothing official says Sally goes into labor at the party, and nothing says Adam delivers. Those are predictions from previews and fans, and CBS isn’t confirming either one. Keep our two weeks of Young and the Restless spoilers close as the wedding episodes land, because the bride has already had one scare this month.

Young and the Restless spoilers, Sally Spectra and Billy Abbott's wedding

Sally Spectra Already Had One False Alarm Before the Big Day

The warning signs started early in the month. On Thursday, October 1, Sally hoped the little one would cooperate and agreed it was all happening fast, and she and Billy still don’t know whether they’re having a boy or a girl. A week later, on Thursday, October 8, she doubled over at her bachelorette party and thought she might be in labor.

Her best friend Audra Charles and her sister Coco Spectra got her to the hospital on Friday, October 9, where her contractions came less than five minutes apart. Then her doctor called them Braxton Hicks, practice contractions, and said the baby is not coming early. Sally, almost at term, flashed back to the daughter she lost in 2023. Adam wasn’t there.

Adam Newman Has Delivered a Baby Before, and He Has Lost One

The 2012 delivery wasn’t medical skill. It was a crisis in a cabin, and two days later, on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, Chelsea named the boy John, for Billy’s father. In June 2023, Adam faced the other side of a birth. Told he had to choose to “save the baby or the mother,” he chose Sally, and their daughter, Ava, was stillborn.

Head writer Josh Griffith put Adam’s thinking into words on Tuesday, May 26: “If I can protect this child because I couldn’t protect the child that I lost, I will.” The show has kept that wound open. On Friday, October 2, when the baby kicked, Sally put Adam’s hand on her belly while Chelsea watched from a distance.

Does Adam Newman deliver Sally’s baby on Young and the Restless?

Nothing official says so yet, and no CBS listing through Friday, October 16 mentions labor. What the show has done is put Adam in the building. On Monday, September 21, Billy banned him from the wedding. By October 2, Adam could come as Chelsea’s plus one, as long as Billy was okay with it, and on Wednesday, October 7, maid of honor Audra told both men to “put on their big boy pants.”

Put the pieces together and the setup is hard to miss. If Adam delivers this baby, it will be the second of Billy’s children he has brought into the world. Fourteen years after the cabin, Chelsea is a bridesmaid at Billy’s wedding, Adam is her date, and the bride is the woman he lost a daughter with in 2023. If I know these writers, they didn’t build all of that for a quiet ride to the hospital.

Sally Spectra’s Published Guest List Has No Doctor on It

So who is in the room if the baby won’t wait? The published guest list names Jack Abbott, Ashley Abbott, Traci Abbott, Abby Winters, Lily Winters, Cane Ashby, Lauren Fenmore and Michael Baldwin. Audra is the maid of honor, Chelsea is a bridesmaid, and Adam is expected as Chelsea’s date. There isn’t a doctor on the list.

The groom’s mother won’t be there either. On Tuesday, October 13, Jill Abbott told Billy she can’t make it, which keeps the one guest who could have shattered this wedding away. My gut tells me that if Sally Spectra goes into labor between the toasts, the steadiest hands in that room belong to the man Billy almost kept out.

Should Adam be the one to deliver Billy’s baby, or does that cross a line? Leave your take in the comments.

Sally’s Baby Is Coming, and Adam Newman Has Done This Before

Billy spent September trying to keep Adam away from this wedding, and he may end up needing him there. Adam has the history and the motive, and Griffith already told us he wants to protect this child. If the baby picks the party, I’m betting on Adam.
