Let Us Start With the Timing

Sienna Bacall would like Genoa City to believe she is just a woman who made an unfortunate marriage, got out, and happened to fall for a younger man while the whole mess was being sorted out. Sweet story. Very convenient story.

Matt Clark is in hiding. His recent wife is in Genoa City. She is living in the home of the family that he is actively terrorizing. She is sleeping with the son of the man he is hunting. Nobody in the Newman family has looked at all of those facts lined up in a row and asked the obvious question out loud yet.

We are asking it.

Here is a small detail that has been sitting in the back of our minds since it happened.

When the Newmans told Sienna that the man she knew as Mitch Bacall was actually Matt Clark, she switched names without missing a beat. No stumble. No grief. No moment of sitting with the fact that the man she married had been living under a false identity. She just nodded and started calling him Matt.

That is not how a betrayed woman processes a bombshell. That is how a woman processes information she already had.

Picture it. Sienna already knows who Matt Clark is. She knew when she married him. She knew when the annulment was filed. She knew when she showed up in Genoa City and attached herself to Noah Newman, Nick’s son, Sharon Newman‘s son. We are not suggesting Sienna Bacall had anything to do with what Matt Clark did to Sharon Newman all those years ago. That was Matt’s crime and Matt’s alone.

What we are suggesting is that Matt Clark, a man who violated Sharon in the worst possible way decades ago, is now using his recent wife to get close to Sharon’s family in her own home. Sharon has spent years trying to move forward from what he did. She has been actively working to help take him down now that he has resurfaced. She welcomed Sienna into her home because Noah loves her.

If Sienna is working with Matt, Sharon is not just a victim of his past. She is a target of his present. In her own kitchen. In her own living room. Every day.

Nick Newman Is Running on Fumes and Pills

Here is the other problem with this entire situation.

Nick Newman is in Las Vegas with Adam Newman, trying to track Matt Clark down and, in Nick’s words, end this. Nick is orchestrating the whole operation. Nick is the one driving this.

Nick is also still on pain medication that Sharon has an inkling about, and nobody has fully confronted yet. The man running point on finding Matt Clark is doing it on compromised judgment, a body that is becoming dependent on something it should not be dependent on, and a rage that has been building since Matt resurfaced.

What if Sienna Bacall knows exactly how compromised Nick is? What if that information is making its way back to Matt in real time? What if every move Nick and Adam make in Las Vegas is being quietly reported back to the man they are hunting?

Matt Clark knows where they are. They do not know where he is. Sienna Bacall is living in their family home with access to everyone they love.
