The Young and the Restless
Y&R’s Kyle Abbott & Billy Abbott Can Plot All They Want; Victor Newman Always Wins
Kyle Abbott and Billy Abbott are plotting against Victor Newman on Young and the Restless, but fans already know how this all ends.
VICTOR NEWMAN ALWAYS WINS, AND EVEN THE EMMYS AGREE
TL;DR: Kyle Abbott and Billy Abbott are cooking up a plan against Victor Newman, and Young and the Restless fans already know how this ends because it always ends the same way. Victor wins. Every time. And now Eric Braeden just picked up a Daytime Emmy nomination for playing him, so apparently even the Emmys are tired of betting against this man.
Kyle and Billy, We Have Seen This Movie Before
Kyle Abbott sort of has something planned against Victor Newman, and Billy Abbott is right there with him, ready to take their shot. Victor already gave Kyle a warning, which means Victor already knows exactly what these two are up to before they have even made a real move. That alone should tell Kyle everything he needs to know about how this ends.
Genoa City has run this exact plot a hundred times. An Abbott gets fed up, decides enough is enough, puts together a plan to finally take Victor down, and then Victor wins anyway, usually while looking bored about it. Kyle is already stretched thin trying to save both of his parents, and now he wants to pick a fight with the one man in this town who has never actually lost.

Even the Emmys Know Victor Newman Doesn’t Lose
Here is the part that makes this whole plan feel even more doomed. This week, Eric Braeden landed a 2026 Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Performer for playing Victor Newman, and he is not the only Y&R name in that category either. Christian LeBlanc picked up a nomination in the same category playing Michael Baldwin, which means two Genoa City power players are both being recognized this year. But it is Victor’s nomination that lands hardest right now because it is one more reminder that this character simply does not lose, on-screen or off.
Fans have watched Victor beat dead horse after dead horse for years, coming out on top no matter who tries to take him down, and honestly, fans are exhausted by it. Kyle and Billy teaming up feels satisfying on paper, the scrappy underdogs finally banding together against the man who has made both of their lives miserable. But we have watched this exact setup collapse before. Jack has tried. Ashley has tried. An entire rotating cast of Newmans and Abbotts alike have tried. Victor Newman does not get outmaneuvered. He gets underestimated, and then he wins, and Kyle and Billy are about to learn that lesson the same way everyone before them has.
