Victor Newman Kept His Promise to Lily and Signed Chancellor Over Like a Man With a Soul

On Friday, Victor Newman sits at the Newman Ranch in the middle of a sincerity audit on Matt and the door OPENS. Lily Winters walks in. Victor straightens up like he is at his own swearing in and informs her he now has Newman Enterprises back. Which means he can finally fulfill the OTHER half of the bargain. He is signing Chancellor Industries OVER to her. The papers, the man tells her, are already drawn up. Reader, Victor Newman actually kept a promise. We have to sit down.

Lily thanks him for keeping his word and exits before he can change his mind. Nick Newman immediately ASKS what his father is doing. Victor says he did what was NECESSARY. Nick warns him this will KILL his mother. Then Matt bounds into the room. From the SHOWER. He literally yells “I feel like a new man!” and the entire moral chess game in the room comes to a SCRATCHING HALT. Reader. Roger Howarth said that line in a man-fresh-from-soap voice and Eric Braeden’s expression was an entire essay on the cost of mercy. Y&R, you bonkers brilliant beasts.

Is Cane going to take Lily up on running Chancellor or is he going to deflect because the stakes are too good to be true? Send us your hottest Cane Ashby theories to [email protected] and we might publish them on the site!

Lily Takes the Chancellor News to Cane and Drops the Question of the Year

Later at Society, Lily joins Cane Ashby and announces Victor Newman has officially HANDED Chancellor to her. Cane reacts like a man who won a Powerball ticket he forgot he bought. Then Lily, casual as a Sunday brunch, asks the question that may detonate the rest of the Y&R summer. “How do you feel about running it for me?”

Reader. RUNNING IT. Lily Winters has handed Cane Ashby the corner office she fought Victor Newman for. The Cane Train is no longer chugging along the rails. The Cane Train has officially pulled into MANAGEMENT. Y&R, please put a ring on Cane’s ENTIRE arc. Hand them a sunset. We deserve THIS happy ending.

Cane Got Called Dad by His Kids and Asked Lily to Lunch Earlier

Earlier on the patio of Society, Cane asked Lily to join him and confessed he had a DREAM about her the night before. A very good dream. His kids sent him a GROUP TEXT mid-conversation that he was too nervous to open. Lily read it for him. He read it back ALOUD and CHOKED UP because they called him “Dad.” Reader, Y&R is giving Cane a redemption arc with FATHER OF THE YEAR plaque vibes and we did NOT see this coming.

Cane and Lily talked about the change in him being GENUINE. Lily said the old Cane is the one she sees right now. Cane confessed his dream included them getting past their issues and a HOT KISS. Lily asked him to keep DREAMING. He asked her to breakfast. She had been summoned to the ranch by Victor Newman. So he asked her to lunch instead, teasing that he knows how badly she wants to see him. She agreed but insisted it is NOT a date. Reader, Lily has accepted a not-a-date with Cane Ashby and we are taking notes for our wedding registry.

Matt Got a Shower and a Sincerity Test in the Same Half-Hour at the Newman Ranch

Earlier still at the Newman Ranch, Matt Clark and Victor discussed his memories. Matt said it was like a long NIGHTMARE. He can remember the things he did but not WHY he did them. Victor said he had decided what to do with Matt. He would explain when his son arrived. Then Matt asked Victor if he could have a SHOWER. Victor smiled. He let Matt wash. Reader, Y&R put one of the most dangerous men in town in the Newman Ranch shower and we have not stopped processing it.

Nick arrived. Father and son talked. Nick admitted he had a SHAKY night and went to a morning MEETING. Victor told Nick that Matt is to blame for ALL of this. Nick disagreed. Then Victor laid out the plan. Keep Matt close. Test his repentance. If he is real, USE him. If he fails, “I’ll crush him without hesitation.” Reader, the Mustache is running a REDEMPTION audit and the stakes are LIFE OR LIFE. Buckle in.

Daniel Refused to Give Phyllis Credit and Sharon Talked Her Off the Ledge

At Society, Daniel Romalotti joined his mom Phyllis Summers for breakfast. She announced she gave Newman BACK. Daniel smiled. Then Daniel asked if she was FORCED to give it up because if so, they have a problem. Phyllis felt cornered. Daniel said she has not LEARNED anything from this. She did not do it for the right reasons. Phyllis TEARED up. All she wanted was for her kids to think she was a SUCCESS. She ran out of Society before her son could finish.

Sharon Newman tracked Phyllis down on the patio. Phyllis assumed Sharon was there to GLOAT. Sharon reminded her she promised she would get her kids back AND some respect, and Phyllis had lost everything. Sharon reminded Phyllis she was NOT a quitter in the clinic. The Phyllis she knows does NOT give up. They held HANDS. Reader, Sharon Case and Michelle Stafford holding hands on a Y&R patio is the most therapeutic shot in daytime this week.

Audra Hyped Up the Shadow Room and Holden Got a Hug for His Recovery

At the Chancellor Park Café, Holden Novak ran into Audra Charles and was BAFFLED when she hugged him. She told him she is not a monster and that the situation reminded her of Amy. Audra filled Holden in on the recreated Shadow Room opening that night. Holden worried it might dredge up Claire’s memories from the LA version. Audra called him obsessed with her love life. He suggested she was distracted by Noah Newman. Audra was UNAMUSED.

Over at Crimson Lights, Noah, Nick, and Sharon Newman discussed how relieved Victor must be. Sharon was AMAZED Phyllis finally caved. Nick said Phyllis was thrown off in a way he had not seen in a long time. Noah focused on the OPENING of his nightclub. His parents promised it would be a HIT. Reader, the Shadow Room is officially OPEN and the Genoa City drink economy is going to BOOM.

Whose Friday move has you reeling? Victor signing Chancellor over to Lily? Lily asking Cane to run it? Or Matt bounding into a sincerity test fresh from the shower? Sound off because we need to talk!
