PHYLLIS’S BIG SURPRISE SHAKES UP THIS Y&R CANADIAN DAY-AHEAD
TL;DR: This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead sends Phyllis Summers and Sharon Newman after Nick Newman while Matt Clark lurks nearby. Want the bigger picture? Our Y&R spoilers for the next two weeks have it all.

Nick Newman Gets Ambushed by Two Exes and a Surprise
This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead opens with Phyllis Summers phoning Lauren Fenmore from the Chancellor Park Cafรฉ to announce she bought the GCAC and that Victor Newman even congratulated her. Victor handing out congratulations is either a sign of the apocalypse or a trap with a bow on it. Then Sharon Newman calls with a different kind of news: Nick Newman is barely holding on, and could Phyllis come over to talk about it?
Sharon is startled when Nick turns up at her place and he wanders around admiring her redecorating, which is a very polite way to avoid eye contact. Then Phyllis arrives, and Nick feels like he’s being ambushed by exes. He isn’t wrong. The women spot his bruised hand, he offers an excuse that fools nobody, and he tries to bolt, but they tell him how worried they are and he’s out of words.
Phyllis assumes he’s using again, and she’s not thrilled that Marie Kirkland and the dealer are back in the picture. She reminds him that she helped Jack Abbott kick addiction and can help him too. Nick admits he thought he was back until the Marie mess happened. Phyllis says she’s sorry Marie had it tough, but a woman like that is the last thing he needs, which is very compassionate for someone who has never made a questionable romantic choice. (Phyllis? Questionable romantic choices? Unthinkable.) Nick gets defensive, and Sharon admits Nikki Newman already told her he went after the dealer. Nick says the cops were in on it, but the guy got away.
Sharon tells Nick to look after himself and floats a return to rehab. Phyllis yells that he can’t go there, that he needs to stay and focus on his family and stop trying to be a hero. The two women argue about it, with Phyllis insisting Nick doesn’t need rehab and Sharon holding firm that he needs professional help. Phyllis’s solution is for the three of them to relax together. Nick is not in the mood, but Phyllis has a surprise.
That surprise lands at the GCAC, where Phyllis marches Sharon and Nick in and announces she owns the building. Then Matt Clark walks in and stays in the foyer to watch the three of them. Nothing says “welcome back” like a man lurking at the edge of the room.

Matt Clark Takes It Up With the Mirror
Matt returns to his room at the Riverbank Motel and remembers he has no money and nobody who’ll be happy to see him. He wonders whether he should warn everyone about Patty Williams. The voice in his head, which has clearly been waiting for an audience, tells the mirror he’s a waste of skin. Matt answers that he could still do some good, and the voice fires back that kindness made him weak and that if he’s smart, it died in the crash.
Matt argues that he’s not a bad guy. He was abused, he started hitting back to protect himself, and he needs to heal. He’s sure there’s good in him and that he can be the man Phyllis sees. Then he yells at the mirror that he is who he’ll always be, stumbles back and cries that he won’t let this happen. And he takes off. The mirror, for the record, does not apologize.

Sally Spectra’s Guest List Takes a Hit
At Crimson Lights, Sally Spectra and Billy Abbott bump into Michael Baldwin and joke around about the bachelor party. Esther Valentine plunks down Michael’s pumpkin spice latte, and he complains it’s lukewarm. Esther vents about a cruise that left without her. Michael reminds the couple that when they marry, they’re marrying each other’s families, which is the most ominous toast of the day. Esther asks about the parties, and Sally invites her to the bachelorette. She is thrilled and bustles off.
Chelsea Lawson and Audra Charles walk in and tell the bride she’s glowing, then admit there’s been a setback for the party: most of the guests can’t come. A surprise is in store, and people keep texting to cancel.
Billy bails and runs into Adam Newman on the patio. Adam reminds him he’s coming to the wedding and doesn’t want it to be weird, and Billy says it’s too late for that. Billy thinks he should have tried harder to say no to Chelsea. Adam suggests they can be adults for a few hours, and Billy vows not to let him ruin the day. The ladies hear every word from the next room. Audra storms over to lecture them both that they owe Sally the best day of her life. Billy and Adam realize they’ll have to find a way to be civil, while Esther offers to call a male exotic dancer for Sally if she needs one. Sally says no thanks, but she’s sure it will be a night she never forgets. Neither is anyone else.

Diane Jenkins and Nikki Newman Bring the War to Jack Abbott’s House
At the Abbott mansion, Jack assures Diane Jenkins there will be no strippers or cigars at the party. Then Nikki arrives, and Diane has a stripper-shaped jab ready. Nikki owns her past with pride and says plenty of other people couldn’t pull it off. When Jack steps away to take a call, Diane complains about Nikki being there at all.
Diane brags that Jabot Classic’s new products will bury Vibrante. Nikki says the battle is on and that she’s exhilarated, because a war with Diane makes it all more enjoyable. Diane accuses her of always being propped up by her husband, and Nikki says she can bury her. Jack returns, they all pin on their smiles, and Diane makes sure to say her love with Jack only grows stronger before she exits. Jack says his wife has mellowed. Nikki wouldn’t go that far.
Nikki then brings up Nick, Marie and the dealer, and Jack finds it very concerning. Her son keeps refusing meetings, and she hopes Jack can get through to him. Jack has already offered his help. The next step has to be Nick’s.
Diane Jenkins Feels Queasy Right on Cue
Back at the cafรฉ, Michael joins Diane, and she tells him everything will be fine once she destroys Nikki. She’s determined to make sure Vibrante fails. Michael says it’s the last thing they need, and she insists it’s between her and Nikki. He’s sure she’ll get into trouble, and she reminds him she has autonomy at work and that Jack will stay out of it. Then she suddenly feels ill and decides she won’t go to Sally’s party. Stomach bug or plot twist? We have our suspicions.
