At the Riverside Motel, Phyllis Summers catches Matt Clark mid-stretch, kisses him, and asks if she has convinced him to stay. He does not argue that he can be redeemed, so she lays out her strategy: turn his enemies into allies, starting with a manufactured act of heroism.

Phyllis wants Matt to save someone the Newmans actually care about, since rescuing a stranger only makes people suspect collusion. She floats Sharon Newman as the target, brushing off his doubts with the confidence of a woman who never lets good judgment slow her down. Matt clearly is not sold on staging a rescue behind Sharon’s back, but Phyllis promises no real danger and insists this is the fastest route to a hero’s welcome.

At the Genoa City Athletic Club, Adam Newman corners Phyllis over breakfast and asks if she has tracked down Matt. She has not, she claims, though she is certain everyone underestimates him. When Adam assumes this is about “revenge,” Phyllis raises the stakes instead, admitting she may actually be in love with the man.

Adam needles her further, but Phyllis makes it clear she needs no man to bring down his family. If the rumor mill already spinning around Genoa City is any sign, this stretch of Young and the Restless spoilers is far from finished with either of them.

Kyle Abbott and Victoria Newman Keep Playing With Fire

Back at Crimson Lights, Kyle Abbott waves off Victoria Newman as a distraction, but the two fall right into Vibrante talk and teasing about her plan to knock Jabot off its pedestal. He needles her about her flawless skin, courtesy of Jabot’s own foundation, before producing the earring she leaves behind on his office floor.

Neither mentions why they keep swearing off “working late” together, and Kyle offers a refill instead of an explanation. By the time he heads out, the two have plans to meet up at the Riverbank later, and Victoria cannot stop smiling.

Nick Newman and Adam Newman Worry About Phyllis Summers and Matt Clark

At rehab, Nick Newman tries to keep things light over cards with Marie Kirkland, who is bored out of her mind until Sharon Newman walks in. Marie guesses correctly that Sharon already knows about her past, and Sharon admits she is simply glad Marie is alive and getting help.

Once alone, Sharon confesses she is there over Phyllis Summers’s fixation on Matt Clark, scared of what happens if Phyllis finds him. Nick is not comforted when Adam shows up, and the brothers spiral into their shared theory that Phyllis has lost her mind.

Adam thinks Phyllis and Matt might already have a body to hide, and Nick would not exactly complain if that proves true. Either way, both brothers agree Phyllis needs to be stopped before it wrecks everyone else’s life too.

Mariah Copeland Pushes Daniel Romalotti Toward Tessa Porter

At the Chancellor Park Café, Mariah Copeland runs into Daniel Romalotti and insists he join her instead of ducking out. She fills him in on new-mom life and admits she does not blame anyone for what happened during her time away, including with Tessa Porter.

Daniel confesses he misses Tessa’s friendship and credits her with helping him find purpose again after everything he’s endured. Mariah tells him to stop stalling and call his own wife, then pushes him toward performing with Tessa at The Shadow Room.

Before she goes, the two hug it out and promise to chase happiness for themselves, in honor of the life Cassie never gets to lead. It is a rare moment of warmth in an episode otherwise built on secrets and scheming.

Nobody in This Scheme Deserves a Round of Applause

Phyllis has convinced herself that staging a fake rescue is basically therapy for Matt, but weaponizing Sharon Newman without her consent is the kind of behavior that makes Genoa City distrust her in the first place.
