ALEX PRESSURES STEPHANIE ABOUT BOOK TOUR — AND FANS AREN’T BUYING THE “SUPPORTIVE BOYFRIEND” ACT

TL;DR: Alex Kiriakis is pressuring Stephanie Johnson about her upcoming book tour on Days of Our Lives*, and the behavior is raising serious red flags for fans who remember PhoneGate. With Alex’s financial stake in her success through Titan, is this concern or control?*

The book tour pressure feels WAY too familiar

Look, I want to root for Stallex. I really do. But Alex Kiriakis pressuring Stephanie Johnson about “more signings and traveling” while Titan desperately needs her book sales revenue? That’s not supportive boyfriend energy. That’s conflict of interest energy. And it’s giving flashbacks to every problematic pattern we’ve seen from this man before.

In the November 18 episode, Alex straight up told Stephanie her book sales “aren’t where they need to be.” He pushed for more tour dates. More travel. More everything. And sure, he offered to join her so they wouldn’t be separated — but let’s be real. Is that about being together, or about keeping tabs on her?

The kicker? Alex has a FINANCIAL stake in Stephanie’s success. Her book is published through Titan. His company. His revenue stream. His pressure campaign that conveniently benefits him professionally while he frames it as caring about HER career. If that doesn’t set off alarm bells, I don’t know what will.

PhoneGate still haunts this relationship

We need to talk about the elephant in the room. The MASSIVE, unforgivable elephant that should have ended Stallex permanently.

January 2023. Alex and Stephanie were about to consummate their relationship when Chad kept calling her phone. Instead of letting her answer, Alex turned it off. Those calls? They were to tell Stephanie her mother Kayla was dying. She never got to say goodbye. Because Alex didn’t want his romantic evening interrupted.

Stephanie said she could “never forgive him” for that. She ended things. She explicitly told him he was treating her “more like his property” than a partner. And yet… here we are again. Back together. Living together. With Alex once again making decisions that affect her life based on what HE wants.

The pattern is documented. The jealousy over Chad. The constant interruptions when she spent time with other people. The aggressive pursuit despite her rejections. Even his own brother Sonny told him to back off! But Alex doesn’t back off. Alex pushes until he gets what he wants.

For more Days of Our Lives coverage, we’ve been tracking this relationship’s ups and downs from the start.

The Jeremy situation is protective… or is it?

When Jeremy Horton — Stephanie’s abusive ex from 2007 — returned to Salem in October, Alex’s reaction told us everything we need to know about how he operates.

Did he ask Stephanie what SHE wanted to do? Did he support her in handling her own trauma? Nope. He threatened Jeremy without her consent. Told him to “stay away from her.” Got so “incensed” hearing about Jeremy’s past abuse that Stephanie had to calm HIM down.

Is confronting your girlfriend’s abusive ex protective? Maybe. But making threats on her behalf without asking? Inserting yourself into her trauma responses? That’s control wearing a hero costume.

And now there’s a stalker targeting both of them. Someone wants Alex “out of the way.” Spoilers say Stephanie will be “in grave danger” this week. Watch how Alex handles it. My prediction? He’ll use the danger to justify being even MORE controlling about where she goes and what she does. The stalker becomes his excuse. Her safety becomes his leverage.

Fans are NOT buying this

The Stallex fandom is… conflicted, to put it kindly. Forum comments range from brutal to BRUTAL:

“Alex and Stephanie are toxic.”

“Two completely useless characters that have overstayed their welcome.”

“Are we supposed to LIKE those two self-absorbed snogging nincompoops?”

Even fans who ship them can see the pattern. One wrote that Alex went “from one set of toxic traits before meeting Stephanie to another after falling for her.” The man doesn’t grow. He just redirects.

Here’s what kills me. Stephanie LEFT Chad because he secretly bought The Spectator to fire her ex. She recognized manipulation and walked away. But Alex pressuring her career while having financial stake in it? Somehow that’s fine?

Steve Johnson is investigating Alex’s past. He was apparently arrested before coming to Salem. Even her FATHER doesn’t trust this man. Maybe Stephanie should listen.
