CARTER WALTON PUSHES STEFFY AS DAPHNE’S SURROGATE WHILE HIS BABY SECRET FESTERS

This Bold and the Beautiful recap for September 16, 2026 opens where Tuesday left off, with Carter Walton still pitching the worst idea of his life. Steffy Forrester Finnegan was having none of it. Her husband is a doctor, she reminded him, and Finn would want to meet the fertility doctor the second she claimed to be Daphne’s donor.

She cannot give away her child. She has been through that once already, when the baby she raised as Phoebe turned out to be Hope and Liam’s stolen Beth in 2019, and she had to hand her back. Carter had a lot of nerve asking her to do it on purpose. He argued this was different, a gift for Daphne, and the plan had to start now.

Steffy would not budge: she is telling Finn the truth, and she will not compound this lie with a worse one. Her parting shot was blunt, focus on your wife, focus on your marriage. Anyone tracking the latest B&B spoilers knows that speech is going to age badly by Friday.

Daphne Wants a Face She Knows

Across town, Daphne Rose Walton sat with Ridge Forrester and Taylor Hayes and said the quiet part out loud. She wishes the donor did not have to be a stranger. Taylor talked up surrogacy success rates and Ridge said it does not matter as long as they get a baby. Daphne kept circling back to the same ache: this child will be part Carter and part someone they have never met.

She decided they were right and both pledged their support. Steffy’s parents just cheered a plan that will detonate on their own daughter. Carter Walton has been sitting on the pact he and Steffy made weeks ago to bury their one night together, and now Daphne is emailing Li that she is ready for a surrogate.

Meanwhile John “Finn” Finnegan was stuck at the hospital complaining to Li Finnegan, the mother who raised him. Steffy was upset when he left, still struggling with everything that happened in Monaco, traumatized by Sheila Carter and the fallout. Li thought Steffy was past it. Finn is the only man in Los Angeles who thinks his wife’s problem is Sheila.

Is Steffy Pregnant With Carter’s Baby on Bold and the Beautiful?

Yes, Steffy is pregnant, and she has told Carter he is the father, though that rests on her word alone since no paternity test has aired. The positive home test landed on September 10. On September 14 she told Carter there was zero chance the baby was Finn’s. The night itself aired August 18 in the Forrester CEO office, after Steffy flew home alone from Monaco and Daphne walked out on Carter.

Here is the piece nobody is connecting. Finn is the doctor who handed Carter and Daphne their surrogacy resources at the September 8 dinner. He built the very cover story that is meant to fool him. And the “No more secrets” vow ringing in Steffy’s head tonight is the promise Finn made to her on August 31 about Monaco. Carter Walton is asking Steffy to break the exact promise her husband made her.

Carter Goes Around Her

Back at Forrester, Carter watched Daphne work, flashed on Steffy telling him to focus on his marriage, and did the opposite. He told Daphne she is beautiful and kissed her. She glowed. “A baby is on the way for us, I know it.” She is ready for a donor and surrogate, even if she wishes it were someone they know.

Carter smiled and said maybe it could happen that way, then suggested she ask Steffy, because who better to bring their child into the world? Reading between the lines, this is Carter Walton making sure the request comes from Daphne’s mouth; Steffy can refuse him all day, but saying no to her friend’s face is another matter. Thursday’s episode is scheduled to show Daphne unable to believe his suggestion, and Friday has Steffy caught off guard while Finn turns to Taylor for support.

The hour closed at the cliff house, where Steffy held her belly, flashed through every scene with Carter, heard Finn say “No more secrets,” and fell onto the sofa sobbing. Don’t be surprised if that confession she promised never makes it out of her mouth.

Carter Just Sold Daphne His Own Secret

My take: Carter crossed a line tonight that he cannot walk back. Steffy’s mistake was one drunken night. His is a plan, built cold, that uses his wife’s grief as cover for his own child. Daphne asked for a baby with a familiar face and he handed her the one face that will destroy her.
