Bold and the Beautiful Recap October 7: Carter Walton Unravels on the Couch Where He Slept With Steffy

TL;DR: Daphne locked the office door and tried to seduce Carter Walton on the couch where he spent the night with Steffy, and he pulled away. Steffy dodged Taylor, Zende made RJ admit who’s boss, and Will told Katie to keep her word.

Daphne Picks the One Couch Carter Can’t Sit On

The Bold and the Beautiful recap October 7 is the day a couch nearly told the truth. Daphne Rose Walton locked the CEO office door, pushed Carter Walton down onto the couch and suggested a glass of Eric’s special Scotch and making love right there on the sofa. Carter froze. He flashed back to doing all of that with Steffy, stopped his wife and told her it felt wrong. They agreed to save it for home.

The mood had been sweet a minute earlier. Carter told Daphne they would find out soon whether Steffy Forrester Finnegan is pregnant, while Steffy stood there looking ill. When he smiled that anything done out of love is okay, she walked out. It picked up a day after Steffy told Daphne she deserves the truth and got talked over.

Daphne still could not understand why nobody told her Steffy had agreed, let alone gone ahead with the implantation behind her back. Carter said he did not want to put pressure on her. Then he mentioned that Finn doesn’t know about Steffy’s decision either, and Daphne looked confused. Carter waved it off and promised Finn would be fine with it. Our B&B spoilers for the next two weeks suggest fine is a very big word for Finn’s homecoming.

That Couch Is the Scene of the Crime

Here is what Daphne cannot know. On August 18, viewers watched Steffy wake up next to Carter on the Forrester CEO office couch, the morning after the one night that started all of this. Daphne picked the same room, the same sofa and the same Scotch without a clue. Steffy is pregnant and believes Carter is the father, and the man who built the surrogacy cover story can’t even sit on his own office furniture.

Carter Walton has spent two weeks keeping his story straight. On Wednesday his body gave him away before his mouth could. My gut tells me Daphne will remember “it felt wrong” a lot longer than he wants her to.

Does Daphne Know Finn Wasn’t Told About the Surrogacy?

Yes, she does now, and she heard it from her own husband. Carter said Finn doesn’t know about Steffy’s decision, and Daphne was thrown. Finn said no to the surrogacy on September 23 and left town for a medical conference. The day Daphne thanks Finn for his blessing, this story starts to come apart. Carter Walton handed his wife the loose thread himself, then told her not to pull it.

Taylor Isn’t Buying Steffy’s Trick

Steffy went home, and Taylor Hayes wanted to know why. Steffy tried to change the subject to why Taylor turned down Deacon’s proposal in August. Taylor reminded her daughter that she is a professional, and that trick does not work on her.

Steffy kept everything to herself: the pregnancy, the baby she believes is Carter’s, and the surrogate story she agreed to against her husband’s wishes while he was out of town. Steffy has already lost her nerve once, and now a psychiatrist who happens to be her mother is reading her face across the room.

Zende Makes RJ Admit Who’s Boss

Across the hall, Zende Forrester Dominguez came back to work and found Electra Forrester and RJ Forrester in the design office. They gushed about how much the Electra line needs his talent. When Electra praised one of his designs, Zende asked RJ for his feedback. RJ trod lightly, and when Zende pointed out that he answers to RJ, RJ did not disagree.

That is the sting. One day after walking out of Logan undecided, Zende walked back into Forrester and made RJ confirm the pecking order with silence. Reading between the lines, compliments are not fixing what really bothers him, and Friday he gets put on the spot about Logan.

Will Tells Katie to Keep Her Word

Katie Logan Spencer walked into Will’s place and found Melissa “Miss” Dylan working from his couch. Katie snarked about Forrester letting Dylan work from home and about Dylan becoming a fixture at Will’s. She never explained her own visit, other than to admit that Zende showed up.

Then Will Spencer came home, learned Dylan had done exactly what Katie demanded by getting Zende to talk to her, and told his mother she needed to keep her word. Katie stayed non-committal about accepting Dylan and left. It was the hard line Will drew over Katie’s own Dylan deal, and Katie still has not paid up. Will and Dylan agreed they are tired of her barging in, and Dylan thanked him for standing up for her.

Carter Walton kept the secret for another day, but only just. Daphne learned Finn was never told, and her husband could not stand to be touched in the room where it all began. That is two clues in one afternoon, and Daphne is nobody’s fool.
