Three People Died During the Dumas Trip From Hell and Nobody Is Talking About It

Here is where things get really hard to ignore. Three people died while Amanda Sinclair and Cane Ashby were in the South of France. Yet both of them have waltzed back into Genoa City with zero accountability and zero consequences. Amanda is a lawyer — she of all people should understand the weight of what happened over there. Cane seems perfectly content to move on as if three sudden deaths were just a minor inconvenience. Y&R fans think otherwise.

Cane’s On-Call Attorney — Is That Really All She Is Now?

So what has Tina Jean wants to know what Amanda has been reduced to: Cane’s personal phone-a-friend. He calls, she answers, and she supposedly helps. That is apparently her entire purpose on canvas right now. Most recently, Cane called on Amanda to help transfer Newman Enterprises back to Victor — a move that Phyllis Summers shut down before it even got started. How did Amanda’s one-time BFF, Phyllis, outsmart her in the race to take over Newman Enterprises?

This is a pattern, and fans know it. Y&R invests in a character, gives them a real storyline, makes fans care — and then sidelines them the moment the plot moves on. Amanda is the latest example, but she is far from the only one. Michael Baldwin, anyone? The difference with Amanda is that there is genuinely unfinished business sitting right there on the table.

Three people died. Newman Enterprises is in chaos. Cane is still pulling strings from the sidelines. Amanda Sinclair is connected to all of it, and Y&R is content to let her collect dust between phone calls.
