JACK ABBOTT IS PLAYING WITH FIRE AND HE THINKS HE IS THE ONE HOLDING THE MATCH

TL;DR: Jack Abbott spent Thursday’s The Young and the Restless convincing himself that what happened on the yacht with Patty Williams was strategy and not weakness. He told Billy Abbott he wants to flip Patty against Victor Newman. He declared he has nothing to lose. Then he walked into the GCAC, spotted Patty at the bar, and smiled. Meanwhile Sally Spectra accepted Billy’s proposal, Phyllis Summers told Victor and Victoria Newman she would take them down with her, and Christine Blair was sworn in as the new DA with Phyllis directly in her crosshairs.

Jack Abbott Decided He Was the One Doing the Playing All Along

Sit down. Jack Abbott is on a journey, and the journey is called rewriting the worst week of his life into a strategic chess move so he can sleep at night. He spent the entire morning at the Abbott estate with Billy Abbott walking through what happened on that yacht with Patty Williams and slowly, painfully, conveniently, arriving at the conclusion that he was the one playing her.

Were the drugs in his system? Yes. Did he climb into bed with a known psychopath while Diane Jenkins was trying to find him? Yes. Did he wake up wondering how this happened? Yes. By the time Billy left, Jack had decided he was actually executing a long-form plan to turn Patty against Victor Newman and bring The Mustache down once and for all.

“At this point, I got nothing to lose.”

Sir.

Then he walked into the GCAC, saw Patty perched at the bar, and smiled to himself like a man holding a winning hand. Jack Abbott is convinced he is the predator in this story. Patty Williams is across the room thinking she and Jack are fate. Both of them are wrong about something fundamental and only one of them is going to walk out of this with their life intact.

Got a wild theory about whether Jack Abbott is actually playing Patty Williams or whether Patty is the one playing him? Send your hottest takes to [email protected] and we just might publish them!

Sally Spectra Said Yes With a Kiss

Across town at the Chancellor Park Café, Sally Spectra was confessing to Audra Charles that she had not actually said yes to Billy yet. She has been sabotaging herself. She was engaged to Wyatt multiple times and never got a ring. She has spent her whole life compensating for not being chosen.

Audra reminded her, gently and firmly, that Billy chose her.

Billy walked in. Audra ran off. Billy started apologizing for the pressure. Sally kissed him to shut him up and said yes. The ring went on the finger. The Chancellor Park Café has hosted some chaotic moments in its day, but a romantic cheeseball proposing for the second time in twenty-four hours and his pregnant girlfriend kissing him into compliance is a top-five entry.

Phyllis Summers Told the Newmans She Will Burn the House Down With Them Inside It

Out at the Newman Ranch, Phyllis Summers walked in like a woman who has been counted out one too many times to be afraid of anyone. Victor told her his evidence would sink her. Victoria Newman told her Michael Baldwin could not save her. Phyllis told them the evidence was fake and if she was going down, she was taking them with her. She reminded them what they did to Cane. She reminded them about Jack on a yacht. She did not blink.

Victor smirked. The man is convinced he has finally cornered her. Phyllis Summers does not get cornered. Phyllis Summers gets reloaded.

The cliffhanger Victor handed her in that scene was the name Christine Blair. The new DA. Phyllis’s oldest enemy. Sworn in this morning. Already deciding what to do about Phyllis Summers.

Christine Blair Got Handed the Phyllis Case of Her Career

Over at Crimson Lights, Daniel Romalotti was congratulating Christine on her swearing-in when he let it slip that his mom was worked up about Victor’s fake evidence. Christine, who has been waiting for this moment her entire adult life, calmly explained that if the Newmans bring her evidence, she is compelled to look at it. She also explained that fake evidence is a crime in itself.

Phyllis stormed in mid-conversation and accused Daniel of siding with Victor. The fight that followed was ugly. Phyllis declared she would never forgive her son for putting a dagger through her heart and stormed out.

Phyllis Summers is being squeezed from every direction by a town that should know better by now. Victor thinks he has her. Christine thinks she has her. Victoria thinks she has her. Daniel handed the new DA a tip without meaning to. The walls are closing in on a woman who turns walls into weapons.

The smartest person in Genoa City right now is the one nobody is paying attention to. Jack Abbott is at the GCAC smiling at a psychopath. Patty Williams is at the bar planning a future she has invented out of thin air. Phyllis Summers is on her way to whatever comes next, and we have a very strong suspicion the body count is going to be higher than anyone expects.

Genoa City. Buckle up.

Do you think Jack Abbott can actually flip Patty Williams against Victor Newman, or is Patty going to play him for the second time? And is Christine Blair really going to come for Phyllis Summers with everything she has? Sound off below!
