This Week in Genoa City

Nick Newman has been spiraling for months on pills and Matt Clark obsession, and this week his body finally gives out. Nick collapses on the phone in front of his family, his life hangs in the balance on Wednesday, and by Thursday Victor Newman makes a shocking decision to save him.

Meanwhile Jack Abbott doubles down on the bad decision he made last week, Patty Williams starts unraveling all over again, Lily Winters sees Cane Ashby in a brand new light in New York, and Kyle Abbott walks into the Abbott mansion with news about Diane Jenkins that Jack is not ready to hear. Genoa City is one phone call away from chaos.

Monday, May 25

Nikki Newman stands her ground, and at this point in the Newman marriage Victor should know that when Nikki digs her heels in, she does not budge. Whatever he is asking her to do, she is not doing it.

Holden Novak and Claire Newman‘s trip to New York takes an unexpected turn, and an unexpected turn on a trip to your dying father’s bedside is the kind of cliffhanger that ruins a Monday.

Jack Abbott makes a bad decision, and the decision is almost certainly going through with his plot to weaponize Patty Williams against Nikki Newman. The man chose chaos and now he has to live in it.

Tuesday, May 26

Victor Newman gains leverage against Phyllis Summers, and after weeks of Phyllis dangling Matt Clark in his face, Victor finally finds the angle that puts the queen of Genoa City on her back foot.

Billy Abbott tells Adam Newman about Sally Spectra‘s pregnancy, which is the conversation Adam never wanted to have with the man currently raising the baby with the woman who used to be his.

Patty Williams makes a distress call about Jack, which is the moment Jack’s revenge plot starts cratering. Patty has been in too many places too publicly, and someone in Genoa City is about to clock it.

Wednesday, May 27

Lily Winters sees Cane Ashby in a new light, and Lily has been holding the line against her ex-husband for months. Whatever shifts inside her hospital room in New York changes the entire summer.

Abby Newman makes a promise to Devon Hamilton, and given Abby and Devon are co-parenting Dominic and quietly worrying that something is still wrong with their son after Mariah’s medication mess, this promise is going to land somewhere between heart-wrenching and terrifying.

Nick Newman’s life hangs in the balance. Nick collapses on the phone, hits the ground, and everyone gasps his name. Whatever has been building in his body finally lets go, and the cliffhanger is going to end with Victor Newman absolutely shattered.

Thursday, May 28

Victor Newman makes a shocking decision to help Nick, and watching Victor be forced to do something he has spent decades refusing to even consider is the kind of episode the Bell family writes once a year.

Victoria Newman seeks Jack Abbott’s help, and after the Newman versus Abbott war Jack just declared, Victoria walking into the Abbott mansion looking for a favor is going to be ice cold and absolutely necessary.

Holden Novak and Stephanie receive news on Malcolm Winters‘s condition, and whatever the New York doctors are about to tell them is going to either rip Holden apart or finally give him hope.

Nikki Newman is haunted by her dreams. Combine the headache she has been hiding from Victoria with nightmares she cannot shake, and Nikki is heading toward something she does not see coming.

Friday, May 29

Victor Newman and Nikki Newman force Nick to face his issues, which after years of looking the other way means the entire Newman family is finally lining up to stage the intervention Nick has been refusing since he started taking pills.

Phyllis Summers gives Patty Williams a history lesson, and Phyllis is the only woman in Genoa City who actually knows what to do with Patty Williams. When Phyllis sits down for a chat, Patty walks out of the conversation either chastened or chasing a body count.

Kyle Abbott walks into the Abbott mansion with surprising news about Diane Jenkins, and given Kyle has been telling Jack his mom has not been to the office in two days and her bed has not been slept in, the news is not going to be good.

Nick Newman has spent months pretending the pills were under control while everyone around him quietly worried. Now his body is making him face it. Do you think the Newmans get him into treatment, or does this go somewhere darker? Sound off below!
