Take a Long, Hard Look
Nick Newman wakes up hooded and bound in a storage room. When Matt Clark removes the hood, the first thing he tells Nick is to take a long, hard look at the face of the man he thought he could outsmart.
Matt knows everything. He knows Nick bought drugs from people who work for him. He knows a “midwestern chump” came looking for trouble. He tells Nick he walked right into his trap and he needs to take some subterfuge classes from his father.
But here is where it gets truly terrifying. Matt Clark is not going to kill Nick Newman. He says killing him is tempting, but he has something better in mind. He is going to feed Nick’s addiction until he is so far gone he does not know his own name. He can see Nick is jonesing already and he does not want to see him suffer. He wants to watch him drown.
And when Nick is ODing on the floor, Matt will go after Noah, Sienna, and Sharon Newman. And there will be nothing Nick can do about any of it.
Nick Newman is not looking at a man who wants revenge. He is looking at a man who wants total annihilation.
Matt Clark has Nick Newman tied up and plans to destroy his entire family. Got a wild theory about how this ends? Send it to [email protected] and we just might publish it!
Adam Newman Figures It Out
Adam Newman is listening over the phone when his brother’s call drops. He tries knocking on Riza’s door. No answer. He calls Nick. Voicemail.
When Riza arrives, she is confused. Her partner “Ronnie” was waiting for Nick when she left. They get inside. The room is empty.
Adam demands to know what she did with his brother. He brings up the name Mitch and watches Riza’s face change. She admits Mitch is her partner. Adam tells her his real name is Matt Clark and he has been terrorizing Nick and Sharon for years. They came to stop him.
Riza realizes Adam has been lying to her this entire time. She slaps him.
Adam Newman went to Vegas pretending to be someone he used to be. Now his brother is missing and the woman he was using to find Matt Clark has just found out she has been played too. Nick Newman is in a room somewhere with a man who plans to drug him into oblivion, and Adam is the only person who knows something has gone very wrong.
Phyllis Summers Tries to Buy Her Son’s Forgiveness
Phyllis Summers catches Daniel Romalotti at Crimson Lights and immediately starts in about his situation with Tessa. Daniel tells her she has no right to ask about his life.
They bicker about her “grasping the brass ring” and Phyllis gets to the real reason she is there. She offers Daniel an entire division at Summers Conglomerate. Whatever he wants. Full creative control. A purpose. A paycheck.
Daniel accuses her of trying to buy his forgiveness and walks out.
When Phyllis turns around, Lauren Fenmore is standing there. Phyllis Summers starts venting about how stubborn and spiteful her son is. She used to talk to her daughter every day and now Summer will not even pick up the phone. Lauren asks the question Phyllis does not want to answer: is what she has gained worth what she has lost?
It is hitting Phyllis Summers that her son will not forgive her unless she gives Newman back. And she is not ready to do that. Which means this is not about stubbornness anymore. It is about choosing the empire over the family.
Diane Jenkins Opens Up to Michael Baldwin
Diane Jenkins sits down with Michael Baldwin at Society and tells him everything. Victor Newman had Jack Abbottcaptive. They raced to rescue him. She walked in on Jack in bed with Patty Williams. Victor planted Patty there. Victor spiked their drinks with libido enhancing drugs.
Michael is disgusted. But Diane asks what good that does. Will he admit that his boss is a terrible person? When will he break ties with Victor?
Michael tells her that where there is love, there is a way back. Diane says her heart is broken, so Jack will have to find someone else to take care of his.
Nikki Newman Confronts Victor and Gets Nowhere
Kyle Abbott corners Victor at the GCAC and tells him he has messed with the Abbotts for the last time. Victor tells Kyle his father has an “insatiable appetite for debauchery” and suggests he be careful with his language. Kyle storms out.
Nikki Newman arrives and asks Victor to admit he has gone too far. He refuses. He brags about getting Chancellor back. Nikki asks if he was hoping the “mad woman” would kill Jack. Victor insists it had nothing to do with him.
When Nikki reminds him that the entire point of Chancellor was to protect Katherine’s legacy, Victor growls that she is “blind to Jackass Abbott” and storms out.
Back at the Abbott house, Kyle vents to Traci Abbott and they come to a chilling realization: the threat they face from Patty could be even worse than the one from Victor.
Phyllis Summers offered Daniel an entire division and he told her she was trying to buy his forgiveness. Do you think she should give Newman back to save her family or keep the empire? And is Diane done with Jack for good? Sound off below!
