The floor is the floor regardless of how golden the boy was supposed to be. And Genoa City, which has watched Nick Newman carry the weight of being the conscience of this family for decades, is now watching him need to be carried for a change.

The Recovery Timeline We Already Know Is Coming

Nikki and Victor are going to force Nick to face his issues. And then something is going to happen that happens every single time Genoa City tackles an addiction storyline.

It is going to resolve very quickly.

We are not being cynical. We are being accurate. This show has a specific relationship with addiction recovery timelines and that relationship does not involve extended treatment arcs or the kind of slow rebuilding that actual recovery requires.

Nick will hit bottom. Nick will get help. Nick will be back at Society in a fresh outfit before the month is out looking like a man who has processed everything and is ready for his next storyline.
