The Young and the Restless
Y&R WHAT’S NEXT SPOILERS! Phyllis Summers Stands Her Ground, the Newman Brothers Throw Down, and Patty Williams Finds Herself a New Bestie
Phyllis Summers has something better than a Newman handover in mind on Y&R, Adam asks Nick if he is using, and Patty meets Matt at Crimson Lights.

PHYLLIS SUMMERS WALKED INTO COURT WITH SOMETHING BETTER THAN A NEWMAN HANDOVER
TL;DR: Next week on The Young and the Restless, Phyllis Summers stuns Michael Baldwin in his own office, the Newman brothers throw down over Nick Newman’s relapse, and Patty Williams finds a new friend at Crimson Lights named Matt Clark. Genoa City is loaded.
Phyllis Summers Has Something Better in Mind
Michael Baldwin walks into the room with the obvious play already in his hand. “Am I hearing you correctly?” he asks. “You’re going to make a deal? Give up Newman Enterprises to avoid legal repercussions, right?” The math is clean. The math is logical. The math is what every defense attorney in Genoa City would have told her to do.
Phyllis Summers is not a defense attorney’s client. Phyllis Summers is Phyllis Summers.
“No,” she tells him. “I have something better in mind.”
Reader, the woman who has been arrested, charged, dragged through the GCAC by Cane Ashby, frozen out of four deals, told her morale is at an all-time low, and lectured by Lauren Fenmore about coping is now sitting across from her own attorney announcing she has a plan that beats handing the empire back. The “something better” is the bombshell. Whatever Phyllis Summers is about to do is going to detonate Christine Blair’s AI fraud case from a direction nobody at the DA’s office is watching for. Michael’s face in that scene is the entire mood of next week. The man knows his client is about to do something genuinely insane and he is bracing for impact.

Adam Newman Asks Nick Newman the Question Nick Just Confessed to Victoria Newman
The Newman brothers are about to throw down. “You want to make an accusation, then come with it,” Nick Newmansnaps. Adam Newman does not blink. “Are you using again, Nick?”
The timing is loaded. Nick told Victoria Newman on Friday that he is an opioid addict. He told her about the accident, the fentanyl, Matt feeding him bad product in Vegas, the spiral. He apologized for disappointing her. Adam was not in that room. Adam was at the Newman Ranch hanging up on Riza and admitting to Chelsea Lawson that the Spyder spark flickered. The two brothers spent Friday on parallel tracks of personal confession, and now they are about to put each other through a wall over which one is hiding more.
Reader, the brutal genius of this collision is that Adam is asking the right question for the wrong reasons. Adam wants ammunition. Nick is hiding the truth. The accusation is going to land, the confession is going to spill, and the two Newman sons of Victor Newman are going to find out the only person who has been honest about himself in this family is Nick, and the only person who can hold that truth without weaponizing it is Victoria. Adam is about to overplay his hand. Nick is about to lose his temper. The rest of the Newmans are about to find out the empire cannot hold itself together while the brothers are trying to take each other down.
Patty Williams and Matt Clark Walk Into Crimson Lights and Smile
Reader, the writers have outdone themselves. Patty Williams is currently roaming Genoa City after Victor Newman planted her in Jack Abbott’s bed, blew up the Abbott marriage, and unleashed her on the rest of the city. Matt Clark is currently roaming Genoa City after surviving a rock to the head in the desert, charming Phyllis at the GCAC bar, and sucker punching Noah Newman at the Chancellor Park Café.
The two walking weapons of mass destruction in Genoa City run into each other at Crimson Lights and smile.
The smile is the cliffhanger. The smile is the reason this storyline goes nuclear. Patty has been Victor’s weapon since the moment she walked back onto the canvas. Matt has been Spyder’s weapon since the moment he walked into Genoa City with no memory and a very convenient ability to lay out Newman heirs. Two unhinged players bonding over coffee and a shared appreciation for chaos is the alliance nobody in Genoa City is prepared for, and Crimson Lights is going to be the launchpad for the next month of damage.
Sharon Newman owns that coffee shop. Sienna Bacall is going to walk in there at some point. Noah Newman is going to walk in there next. The smile between Patty and Matt is the friendship that ends the Newman family, and we are going to be right here for every venomous minute of it.
