Patty Williams Decides Phyllis Has Outlived Her Usefulness and Volunteers to Handle It

Earlier at the Chancellor Park Café, Matt Clark finally takes someone up on a non-Phyllis offer of conversation. Patty Williams slides into the booth across from him, gushes about how her “high level of empathy” told her he was in pain, and proceeds to give him the realest fifteen minutes of his post-amnesia life. He confides that he is dissociating, that he cannot remember if he even knows how to drive, and that he is terrified of getting jumped by a stranger at every turn. He asks if she knows the Newman family. She says they hate her too. Bonding has occurred.

He admits Phyllis Summers gave him a laundry list of her crimes. Patty owns every word of it. Then she pivots. She tells him Phyllis is leading him on, exploiting his amnesia, and keeping him trapped on purpose. She is the only person in town who has actually treated him like a human being. And she has a plan. She promises she will take care of this. Phyllis Summers does not know it yet, but on Monday she walks into a Patty-shaped buzzsaw. Patty-cake, Patty-cake, Baker’s Man. Y&R writers, we SAW that title in your eyes.

Phyllis Cuts a Side Deal With Nick Behind Victor’s Back at the GCAC

While Patty is plotting, Phyllis is in a corner of the GCAC making her own moves. Nick Newman tells her to forget everything his father said. The deal is Matt for the charges being dropped. Newman stays untouched. Phyllis listens, asks if he can actually pull this off, and then dares him to deliver. She wants the charges GONE and her conglomerate. He says he will handle it. She says she is not moving an inch until the charges are dropped and Victor is told to stand down.

Then Nick calls Christine Blair for a meeting. He tells the DA he wants the charges against Phyllis dropped and the focus moved to Matt. Christine looks at him like he has lost his mind, which, fair. She asks why she wouldn’t take both. Nick chews on ice and tries to sell it. Christine figures out the whole play in under a minute. Phyllis has Matt. Phyllis is extorting them. Phyllis Summers has cornered the most powerful family in Genoa City with a memory-impaired house guest. Michelle Stafford, Joshua Morrow, Lauralee Bell. Give them everything. Give them Emmys. Give them parade floats.

Sharon Tries One Last Time to Reach Phyllis at Crimson Lights

Sharon Newman catches Phyllis sneaking around the coffee shop. Phyllis claims she is looking for coffee. Sharon, who already got the tea from Esther, points out that Phyllis bought two coffees this morning. Phyllis insists the second one was for Lauren. Sharon does not buy it. The math is not mathing.

Sharon reminds her that they used to be friends. That Phyllis is harboring the man who terrorized their family. Phyllis claims Victor put her against a wall. Sharon follows her out to the patio and asks if she misses her kids and friends. Phyllis snaps that everyone turned their backs on her. Sharon warns her, gently, that Matt is wired to hurt people and Phyllis will be next on the list. Phyllis storms off because Phyllis Summers cannot hear the word “no” inside her own head. Sharon does the slow exhale of a woman who has tried.

Adam and Chelsea Bicker About Strategy at Society

At Society, Adam Newman tells Chelsea Lawson that Phyllis will cave one way or another. Chelsea is over it. She wants Matt off the street because Connor is rattled by the security. Adam reminds her this is about getting Matt AND getting Newman back. Chelsea thinks he is too obsessed with the Newman side of things. She is rooting for Nick to do whatever he has to do.

Adam, who is allergic to the truth ninety percent of the time, lays out the actual truth on a Monday. Nick is using the Matt manhunt to avoid getting sober. The detox is a lie. The vigilante plan is a deflection. If they let it spiral, the whole family pays. Reader, Adam Newman is the smartest person in the room and that is a sentence we never thought we would type.

Adam Tips Off Victor at the Newman Ranch

After Society, Adam heads straight to the Ranch. He tells Victor Newman he has a bad feeling. He thinks Nick is going to make a side deal with Phyllis behind their backs to get Matt at any cost, including handing over Newman. Victor insists his son knows better than to trust Phyllis. Adam is not convinced.

Victor decides to call Phyllis. Reader, that phone rings at the worst possible moment. Phyllis is currently three plays deep in a chess game where Patty is the queen, Nick is the pawn, Christine is the rook, and Victor is the king. Buckle in. Monday is going to feast.

Whose Monday move has you screaming? Patty going full vigilante for Matt? Phyllis cornering the entire Newman family? Or Adam being the smartest man in Genoa City for the first time in his life? Sound off because we need to talk!
