TL;DR: This Young and the Restless Recap catches Victoria Newman kissing Kyle Abbott in broad daylight before they scheme their way to the same city. Victoria and Kyle Go Public

Every secret romance comes with one golden rule: keep the kissing behind a locked door. Kyle Abbott glanced at that rule on his way into Crimson Lights, told Victoria Newman she looked wonderful, and guided her outside for a smooch in full view of the latte-drinking public. Victoria could not believe he had done it, which did not stop her from kissing him again moments afterward.

Between smooches, this couple handled the logistics, which is the least romantic and most dangerous part of any affair. Victoria was bound for London on business, and Kyle wanted to turn up there. She nixed the Newman jet as far too risky, so he promised to cook up a reason to cross the Atlantic on his own. She said she longed for the day they could relax around other people, a day that clearly had not arrived, given how the patio went.

They wandered back inside and straight into Phyllis Summers, who demanded an explanation for the pair turning up together. Plenty went down yesterday, they said, which was true in several senses. Phyllis announced she was thrilled it all unfolded under her roof (she owns the place now, and she will bring it up again before dinner). She told them Billy was catching a ride to London in the Abbott family plane, crowed about the Arabesque bash on her calendar, and ordered each of them to bring a date. Kyle and Victoria exchanged a glance that said they had that covered.

After Kyle left, Victor Newman sat down with his daughter to talk about her trip. Billy Abbott arrived with Michael Baldwin plus Lauren Fenmore, and Victor offered his condolences about Jill Abbott. Billy braced for the usual barbs and was stunned when none came. After they left, Victor mused that the whole cast might collide across the pond, a sentence that should come with a warning label for a woman whose secret already has a boarding pass.

Kyle’s final stop was the Abbott estate, where Jack Abbott showed him a photo of baby Ruby. Kyle announced he had to leave and inspect an acquisition, which struck Jack as awfully sudden. Kyle explained he wanted to find out whether it lived up to its reputation. Jack has run a company for a long time and knows a flimsy alibi when one lands in his lap, but Kyle was already working on his next text. The moment he had the room to himself, he told Victoria he was ready to go. The only thing Kyle was acquiring was a seat on a plane.

Adam Insists He Is Fine

Back at the family ranch, Victor praised Nick Newman for his efforts and said he was happy to have him home. It was a lovely, rare burst of fatherly warmth that lasted precisely until Adam Newman walked in. Victor called him a hero, and Adam admitted the day had been intense. Victor suspected the delivery had taken a toll. Adam swore he was fine and begged everybody to quit checking on him, which is exactly the kind of request that makes a Newman father check again.

Victor reminded him that he had lost a baby of his own and was certain this one stirred it all up. Adam admitted that it did, and said it had still been an incredible thing to be part of. Victor then wondered how Chelsea Lawson felt about all of it, and Adam bristled. His father walked through his history with Chelsea and with Sally Spectra. Nick doubted Chelsea could file her emotions into neat compartments like his brother could. Adam fired back that Nick must have logged too many hours on a therapist’s couch, then insisted that he and Chelsea were thrilled, full stop. Slamming a door on a conversation is not the same as closing it.

Nick later dropped by Sally’s to admire the newborn, and declared her beautiful. He wondered how bizarre it had to feel that his brother delivered her. Sally said Adam had been steady through it, but she worried about the emotions it might have unlocked. Nick agreed that nobody ever knows what is happening in Adam’s head, then told Sally that motherhood suited her. She told Nick he looked well, and he said he felt well, and they both agreed that everything was new.

Lauren and Phyllis Wait on Jill

At the club, Lauren told Phyllis her departure felt badly timed, and Phyllis told her to stop. Lauren had spoken to Snapper that morning, and Jill looked strong enough for her surgery. Relatives were booking flights from everywhere.

Phyllis was convinced that a newborn grandchild would hand Jill motivation to battle on. She admitted she and Jill have never liked each other but share more than either would confess, and she wanted Jill out of the woods. Then, because Phyllis has never met a crisis she could not turn into a marketing campaign, she decided Arabesque needed a slogan urging customers to make each moment matter. She promised Lauren that her partner Daniel Romalotti would keep things running while Lauren was away. When Michael arrived, Phyllis tactfully slipped out. He assured his wife that the Fenmore sisters were sturdy survivors and that Jill would soon be ordering everyone around again.

Billy Cannot Leave Ruby

Billy has marched out of every room in Genoa City, but this one needed a crowbar. He could barely pry himself loose from his wife and daughter, so Sally had to play the sensible adult and promise all was well while reminding him his mother needed him. Jack arrived to see his niece and cooed over her till Sally whisked her away to show her off to the Spectra clan.

Left alone with Jack, Billy confessed that his suitcase was zipped and ready, and that he wanted to be anywhere else. Jack insisted going was correct, because staying put would haunt him for good. When Jack left, Billy told his bride he hated the idea of leaving. Sally promised that chaos would be waiting when he returned, since chaos is the one thing in Billy’s life with a perfect attendance record.

Michael and Lauren turned up to drive him away. Billy kissed his bride goodbye while his aunt and uncle offered their congratulations.

Audra and Chelsea Try a Truce

Society hosted a lunch date between two women who tolerate each other, and the tension arrived with the menus. Audra Charles thought it was odd that Chelsea and Adam dropped in on the newlyweds and their daughter. Chelsea insisted it was perfectly normal. Audra told her to relax and listed the chaos of recent weeks. Chelsea snapped that Adam helping a baby arrive was a beautiful thing, and Audra should dwell on that.

Audra proposed returning to separate corners and dropping the forced friendship. Chelsea admitted she found Audra a handful, but admired her loyalty to Sally and figured a friendship was worth attempting. She added that she loved honesty, regretted how deeply she had wounded Sally and Billy, and still thought the word odd was unkind. Audra said she refused to censor herself, and Chelsea begged her to quit waving the worst thing she ever did around.

They ordered muffins, because a truce tastes better with a streusel. Adam turned up, and Audra thanked him for his help with Sally. He nodded, the safest move available at that table. Their glasses clinked in a toast to anxiety, and Adam confessed that seeing this pair sit together would take adjustment. Audra joked about the chaos coming when Sally had to name godparents. Phyllis then popped over to ask Adam whether he had heard anything about Matt Clark. He said they all prayed he never returned.
