The Young and the Restless
EXCLUSIVE WEDNESDAY CANADIAN Y&R DAY AHEAD: Patty Williams Got a Clean Bill of Mental Health and Spent the Whole Day Proving Why That Was a Catastrophic Mistake
Patty Williams got a clean bill of mental health on Wednesday’s Y&R and immediately spent the day tormenting Diane Jenkins and Phyllis Summers.

PATTY WILLIAMS WAS CLEARED AND IMMEDIATELY WENT HUNTING
TL;DR: On Wednesday’s The Young and the Restless, Patty Williams strolled out of mental health evaluation with a clean bill of health and spent the rest of the day cornering Diane Jenkins in the GCAC lobby and Phyllis Summers at the bar. Meanwhile Diane returned Jack Abbott’s Josephine Baker ring after catching him eating scones with Nikki Newman, Phyllis is fighting Victor Newman’s takeover with one hand while Michael Baldwin warns Lauren the AI bomb is loaded, and Victor is paying Patty in cash and politely asking if she’ll leave town.

Patty Williams Has Paperwork Now and That Should Terrify You
Patty Williams walked into Wednesday’s episode with a clean bill of mental health from a licensed professional and spent the rest of the episode proving the licensed professional should be sued for malpractice. She cornered Diane Jenkins in the GCAC lobby first. She bragged about being as sane as anyone else in town, gleefully reminded Diane that she caught her having sex with Jack Abbott in his office, and announced she would be “more than happy to console” Jack now that Diane was driving him away. Thanks. We hate that she has a clean evaluation and is using it as a weapon. Thanks. We hate that the “consoling” was the actual paid job all along.
Then she bumped into Phyllis Summers at the GCAC and goaded her about Summer. The woman who pushed Summer down a flight of stairs and nearly killed her stood in front of Phyllis and suggested Phyllis should see a professional about her unhealthy anger. The woman who tried to kill her child. Suggested Phyllis. Get help. For her anger. Thanks. We hate it.
Patty is doing the rounds. Patty has a piece of paper that says she is fine. Patty is using that paper to terrorize the two most vulnerable women in Genoa City on the same afternoon. By the end of the episode she is at the Newman Ranchcollecting a duffel bag of cash from Victor for the yacht job, and Victor is asking very politely whether she might consider leaving town. Reader. She is not going to leave town. Reader. We hate that too.

Diane Jenkins Returned the Josephine Baker Ring and Caught Jack Eating Scones with Nikki
In the secondary scream of the day, Jack sent Diane a Josephine Baker ring with a letter promising he would stop making excuses and wanted her to know their love is forever. Thanks. We hate the ring. Diane took the ring, took the letter, and walked it straight to the Abbott estate to give the entire bundle back. She arrived at the kitchen to find Jack and Nikki Newman sharing scones from Mrs. Martinez’s baking. Thanks. We hate the scones.
Diane handed Jack the ring back and accused Nikki of wanting Jack all to herself. She taunted Nikki about her marriage being in ruins and Victor luring her back with gift bags. Then she told them both to “enjoy your scones” and walked out sobbing. Iconic. Devastating. Thanks. We hate that this is what their marriage looks like now.
The minute Diane left, Jack asked Nikki if she thought he had been too quick to declare the marriage over. Nikki gave him the speech about love and hope. Jack responded by suggesting it was time for the “nuclear option,” which fans will recall is the fake jealousy plan he and Nikki workshopped on Friday. The plan is bad. The plan is going to make everything worse. The plan is also absolutely going to be deployed before the week is out. Thanks. We hate it.
Phyllis Summers Is Holding the Line and the Floor Is About to Drop
Phyllis walked into Society firing someone over the phone like a woman who has decided defiance is a strategy. She immediately started ripping into Victoria Newman, calling Victor’s defected employees “losers” and bragging about not having to pay severance to people who already walked. Thanks. We hate that she thinks this is winning.
Victoria, sensing blood in the water, started goading Phyllis about her estranged children. Christine Blair joined to back her up. Phyllis got piled on by two women in a single scene and walked off to find Patty waiting for her at the bar like a heat-seeking missile. By the end of the day Phyllis had been told she might be losing her business, taunted about her children, threatened with a clean bill of mental health, and warned by Michael that legal jeopardy was incoming. Thanks. We hate that this is happening to her in one episode.
Meanwhile in the corner, Kyle Abbott snapped at Victoria and told her to reel her father in. We love that. We need more of that. Kyle has had enough of the Newmans on principle and we are here for it.
Michael Baldwin Is Trying to Save Lauren and Lauren Is Not Listening
In a different corner of the GCAC, Michael Baldwin sat down with his wife and explained that Victor has a Chancellor AI loaded and ready to manufacture fake evidence against Phyllis, Cane, and Billy. He told Lauren Fenmore that Phyllis is in actual legal jeopardy. Thanks. We hate that he is right and Lauren is not yet ready to hear it.
Lauren is busy trying to recruit Michael as Summer’s Conglomerate head of legal. She sees the mass exodus and thinks it is an opportunity to handpick a loyal team. She is treating Victor’s takeover like a hiring problem instead of a war. Michael keeps trying to tell her that this is step one of a much darker plan. Lauren keeps not listening because Lauren loves Phyllis and Lauren does not abandon ships. By the time the AI evidence drops, Lauren is going to be on the deck with the captain.
The marriage is about to be on opposite sides of Victor’s war and Michael is the one who knows the iceberg is coming. Thanks. We hate that we cannot warn her ourselves.
Christine Blair Just Took the DA Job and Victoria Is Already Trying to Weaponize Her
In a quieter beat with louder implications, Christine Blair officially has the DA job and Victoria spent her first day in the chair trying to hand her Phyllis on a platter. Victoria pitched her father as a victim of “diabolical” Phyllis. Christine has integrity. Christine has not yet committed to going after Phyllis. But Victoria is already laying the groundwork for the new DA’s first big move, and the new DA has a long history of being principled in ways that will not protect Phyllis when the AI evidence surfaces. Thanks. We hate that Christine’s first week may be defined by a Newman setup.
