PHYLLIS SUMMERS IS LOSING EVERYTHING AND VICTOR HAS NOT STARTED

TL;DR: On Tuesday’s The Young and the Restless, Phyllis Summers watches every department head resign over the course of one morning because Victor Newman is paying two thirds of her workforce to walk out the door. And the rogue Chancellor AI is building fake evidence. And Michael is being told to flip Lauren. By the end of the week, Summer’s Conglomerate is dead and so is whatever is left of Phyllis’s sanity. Thanks. We hate it.

Phyllis Summers Watched Her Entire Company Walk Out Before Lunch

Phyllis Summers starts Tuesday the way any delusional mogul starts the beginning of the end. Lauren Fenmore brings her flowers. Phyllis brags about her wins. Phyllis declares that there is nothing but blue skies ahead. Thanks. We hate that she is saying it. We hate that she believes it. We hate that we already know what is coming.

What is coming is her email inbox. One department head after another hits send on a resignation letter, and by the time she and Lauren look up, Summer’s Conglomerate has been hollowed out like a fire drill nobody bothered to announce. Phyllis immediately knows Victor Newman is behind it. Lauren knows Phyllis is not going to be able to hire her way out of this. And Phyllis is still standing in her boardroom talking about inflated salaries and replacements like a woman who has not read the room she is currently bleeding out in.

Then Michael texts Lauren for lunch. Then Michael sits his wife down and explains that Phyllis will lose it all by the end of the week along with what is left of her mind. Then Phyllis Summers is alone at her computer screaming “Damn you, Victor!” at a piece of technology that is not going to answer her.

This is going to get worse for Phyllis Summers. We hate that too.

Meanwhile Victor Is Holding Court at the Ranch Like a Bond Villain

At the ranch, Victor has Michael and Victoria Newman gathered around him while he walks through his plan in the tone of a man who has already won. He is reclaiming Newman Enterprises. He is buying out two thirds of the workforce. He is using the Chancellor AI to fabricate evidence that Phyllis Summers has been running illegal business with Billy Abbott and Cane Ashby. And he is expecting Michael to go home and convince Lauren that Phyllis Summers is a sinking ship.

Thanks. We hate it.

We hate that Victor has weaponized AI. We hate that Victoria calls it “the genie out of the bottle” like that is a reassuring thing to say. We hate that Victor cheerfully points out that the problem with Cane was he could never decide what to do with the exact same technology Victor is now cheerfully abusing. And we especially hate that the minute Michael leaves, Victoria tells her daddy she is proud of him for warning Michael and suggests he is maybe not the world’s meanest man after all.

He is, though. Victoria. Sweetie. He is.

Victor then tells his daughter that her mother does not want to be with him anymore and they just have to move on. That is not how this works. That has never been how this works. Thanks. We hate that too.

Devon and Abby Are Detonating Their Marriage Over Mariah

At the Chancellor Park Café, Devon Hamilton corners his wife and immediately makes the entire Mariah situation about how unsupported he feels. Abby Newman is furious that he went after Mariah’s plea deal behind her back without discussing it with her first. Devon says that if Mariah ends up in jail, well, that would not be the worst outcome. Devon. Sir.

The fight spirals. Abby accuses him of trying to drive Mariah off the rails so she ends up locked up anyway. Devon accuses Abby of not being angry enough. Devon accuses Abby of not sympathizing with him. Devon makes it about Devon so many times that when Abby finally calls him on it, he responds by getting more sarcastic. Thanks. We hate that.

He storms off past Daniel, who immediately asks Abby why Devon is trying to punish Mariah. Abby does not know. We do not know. Devon may not know. And that is exactly the problem.

Christine Has a Job Offer and Cricket Is Thinking About Saying Yes

In a much gentler corner of the GCAC, Danny Romalotti hands Christine Blair a kerchief he grabbed out of a swag bag, which is the most Danny thing he could possibly have done. Cricket is unbothered. She takes the freebie. She tells him the current DA is stepping down and has asked her to finish the term.

Danny wants her to follow her passion. Christine does not know whether that passion is lawyering or touring the world next to a rockstar. Danny offers to cut back on concerts and settle in Genoa City. Christine likes the sound of that. Then Daniel Romalotti shows up to welcome his dad back and they actually have a lovely family moment. Thanks. We love it. We had to throw that in because the rest of this episode is a dumpster fire.

The only catch: if Christine takes the DA job, she inherits the Mariah plea deal situation. Daniel asks if she would have pull to reverse it. Christine says a panel of judges handles that and does not think Devon has a chance, but she wonders out loud if his real goal is to drive Mariah into a breakdown. Cricket is sharp. Cricket has been around. Cricket already sees what is happening.

Christine decides she will make up her mind by tomorrow. She and Danny head upstairs. Finally. Something went right.

Do you think Victor Newman’s AI war against Phyllis Summers is a step too far, and is the Devon and Abby marriage heading for a cliff? Sound off below because this comment section is about to start throwing elbows!
