B&B Spoilers: Liam’s Life-Threatening Condition Used as Pawn in Hope-Steffy Drama

As Liam Spencer faces a life-threatening brain hemorrhage after confrontation with Bill, fans are outraged that his medical crisis is being used to whitewash Hope’s betrayal with Thomas and reset the legendary Steffy-Hope feud without acknowledging their complicated history.

LIAM’S DEATHBED DRAMA: B&B USES BRAIN HEMORRHAGE TO REWRITE HOPE’S BETRAYAL WITH THOMAS

IS LIAM’S TRAGEDY JUST A PLOT DEVICE TO MAKE US FORGET THE PAST TWO YEARS?

Oh. My. GOD. I cannot believe what I’m seeing on my screen these days! Just when you think The Bold and the Beautiful writers couldn’t possibly find another way to manipulate our emotions, they’ve decided to use Liam Spencer’s literal BRAIN HEMORRHAGE as a convenient eraser for two years of character development. And fans? They are NOT having it.

DYING MAN BECOMES EVERYBODY’S EMOTIONAL PROP

Let’s get real for a second. Liam is fighting for his LIFE after that confrontation with Bill Spencer ended with him hitting his head and suffering a potentially fatal brain hemorrhage. You’d think this would be LIAM’S story, right?

WRONG!

Instead, the writers have turned this life-or-death situation into—surprise, surprise—another chapter in the never-ending Hope Logan and Steffy Forrester saga. I’ve been watching this show since the ’90s, and even I’m getting whiplash from how quickly they’re trying to make us forget everything that’s happened since 2023.

Remember when Hope chose Thomas Forrester—yes, THAT Thomas, the same man who kept baby Beth’s existence a secret and tormented this family for YEARS—over Liam? When she threw a separate birthday party for Beth with Thomas playing daddy after divorcing Liam? When she basically gaslighted Liam about his legitimate concerns regarding Thomas?

Apparently, the writers don’t!

THE FLASHBACKS TELL ONLY HALF THE STORY

This week’s episodes have featured tear-jerking flashbacks of Liam and Hope’s happier times. Sweet, right? Except they’ve conveniently edited out the part where Hope betrayed Liam with the very man who caused all their suffering in the first place!

One particularly eye-roll-inducing moment came when Liam told Hope she “made everything right for Beth” after they separated.

Excuse me?

Is this the same Beth who was forced to call Thomas “daddy” while Hope played happy families with him? The same child whose real father was devastated watching another man take his place? The selective amnesia is STAGGERING.

DEACON SHARPE: UNLIKELY VOICE OF REASON?

In a twist I never saw coming, it was actually Deacon Sharpe who sparked Hope’s sudden reinterest in Liam. After ONE conversation with daddy dearest, the relationship that meant absolutely NOTHING to her for two solid years suddenly “means so much” to her.

Girl, please. 🙄

Where was this sentiment when you were busy playing house with Thomas? When you were letting him near your daughter despite Liam’s valid concerns? When you were KISSING him in Rome?

FIXING THE UNFIXABLE FEUD

If all this wasn’t ridiculous enough, the writers are now positioning Liam as the designated peacemaker between Hope and Steffy. Because apparently, when you’re dying, your top priority is fixing a feud that PREDATES YOUR EXISTENCE ON THE SHOW.

Let’s be clear here—the Steffy-Hope rivalry started long before Liam entered the picture. It goes back to Phoebe’s death and Ridge raising Hope. If anyone should be responsible for fixing this mess, it’s Ridge Forrester himself! But no, let’s put that burden on the guy with the brain hemorrhage. Makes perfect sense! 🤦‍♀️

FINN AND LIAM: THE STORYLINE WE DESERVED

What truly frustrates me (and many fans on social media) is the missed opportunity for compelling drama between Finn and Liam. Imagine the complexity of Finn having to treat the man who’s been at odds with him over Steffy—the ethical dilemmas, the personal growth, the potential for genuine character development!

But instead, we get… whatever this is. A convenient reset button that ignores years of character development in favor of recycling the same tired triangle.

WHAT’S NEXT? WHO KNOWS!

Will Liam miraculously recover? Will he die (temporarily, because this is soap land after all)? Will Hope and Steffy become besties over his hospital bed?

One thing’s for certain—whatever happens, the writers seem determined to make us forget that Hope ever chose Thomas over Liam. They’ve burned “Lope” to the ground, and instead of dealing with the ashes like adults, they’re pretending the fire never happened.

As one passionate fan commented online: “They should be real with all these relationships. Hope should be the one trying to make things right with Liam after what she did to him.”

I couldn’t agree more. But I’m not holding my breath for anything resembling realistic character development at this point. Are you?
