IS TAYLOR HAYES THE WORLD’S WORST THERAPIST?

Fans are outraged after Dr. Taylor Hayes advised daughter Steffy to leave Finn over his newfound connection to Luna, despite Luna being safely locked away in prison.

The line between being a concerned mother and maintaining professional ethics as a therapist has apparently vanished for Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful. In recent episodes, the psychiatrist shocked viewers by advising her daughter Steffy Forrester to leave her husband Finn Finnegan after learning that Finn is actually Luna Nozawa’s biological father.

The bombshell recommendation has fans questioning whether Taylor might actually be the worst therapist in soap opera history, with many pointing out the glaring contradictions in her advice and her own life choices.

MOTHER KNOWS BEST… OR DOES SHE?

When Finn finally confessed to Steffy that he is Luna’s biological father—a result of a teenage fling with Poppy Nozawa when he was just 18—Steffy was understandably shocked. But it was Taylor’s reaction that truly raised eyebrows. Despite the fact that Luna is currently incarcerated and poses no immediate threat, Taylor immediately advised Steffy to take the children and leave Finn.

“What the heck kind of therapist is Taylor?” one fan commented online. “As far as Steffy and Taylor know, Luna is in jail for life. Why is she telling her to run from Finn and take the kids?”

The advice seems particularly hypocritical given Taylor’s own tumultuous relationship history with Ridge Forrester, which has been characterized by decades of dramatic back-and-forth with Brooke Logan.

THE THERAPIST WHO NEEDS THERAPY

What makes Taylor’s advice even more questionable is that she’s failing to separate her roles as mother and mental health professional. Any qualified therapist would recognize the conflict of interest in counseling their own family members—yet Taylor regularly blurs these boundaries with Steffy.

Instead of helping Steffy process her emotions and consider the situation rationally, Taylor jumped straight to an extreme solution that seems driven more by her personal fears than professional judgment. With Luna behind bars and Finn historically being a devoted husband to Steffy, the drastic measure of leaving him appears unfounded.

Some fans have been quick to point out that Taylor herself has a pattern of running away when things get difficult in her own relationships. As one viewer noted: “Taylor needs to shut up and go back to snuggling with Ridge. Running from things is what SHE does.”

THE HAYES-FINNEGAN BLOODLINE CONCERNS

Taylor’s most troubling argument centers around her suggestion that Finn’s “bloodline” could be dangerous because of his connections to both Sheila Carter (his birth mother) and now Luna (his daughter). This genetic determinism feels particularly out of step with modern therapeutic practices.

“Taylor also wasted no time telling Steffy that Finn’s ‘bloodline’ could run through Hayes so they have to be careful,” another fan observed, highlighting Taylor’s focus on hereditary concerns rather than Finn’s actual character and behavior.

The irony, of course, is that Taylor once encouraged Steffy to befriend Sheila before later using Sheila as a reason why Steffy should leave Finn. This inconsistency further erodes confidence in her judgment.

Not all fans are critical of Taylor, however. Some see her reaction as a natural maternal response rather than a professional one, suggesting she’s speaking as a mother, not a psychiatrist.

“Taylor is telling Steffy to think about the kids, put them first. I get her concern due to what has happened in the past,” one defender wrote. Another added, “Taylor was reacting in shock which is completely understandable. She just heard that the woman who kidnapped, drugged, and locked her daughter in a cage with the intent that she be killed is her son-in-law’s child.”

Whether you view Taylor’s advice as justified maternal concern or unprofessional overreach likely depends on how you view the danger Luna represents—even from behind bars.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR STEFFY AND FINN?

The big question now is whether Steffy will follow her mother’s advice or stand by Finn. Given their history of overcoming obstacles together—including Finn’s presumed death and miraculous return—many fans believe their bond is strong enough to withstand this latest revelation.

However, with rumors that Luna might not be as securely locked away as everyone believes (possibly under house arrest at Bill Spencer’s mansion), Taylor’s fears could eventually prove justified.

For now, Steffy faces an impossible choice: listen to her mother’s emotional warning or trust in her husband’s consistent love and support. Whatever she decides, this latest crisis will undoubtedly test the Hayes-Finnegan marriage like never before.
