After two weeks of Daphne shopping for a baby she thinks Steffy Forrester Finnegan will carry for her, you can guess.

Here is what Daphne does not know. Steffy is already pregnant. A home test came back positive on September 10, and on September 14 she told Carter Walton the baby is his, from one drunken August night on the Forrester office couch. The next day Carter pitched her as egg donor and surrogate, so her real pregnancy could quietly become the Waltons’ miracle.

Steffy fought it, then stopped fighting. Carter told Daphne on September 18 that Steffy had said yes, added a story on September 21 about Steffy’s eggs already being frozen, and Daphne went shopping. Finn asked Ridge on September 22 to keep an eye on Steffy while he was away. So if Daphne’s news is what we think it is, the man Finn trusted to watch his wife hears that the plan is still very much alive. Finn already said no. That is a phone call waiting to happen.

Brooke is the wild card, with no reason to protect Steffy and every reason to ask questions. Taylor Hayes has been circling since late August, telling Ridge more than once that their daughter has not been herself. On September 23 she said whatever is eating at Steffy is “taking up more space inside of her.” Put Brooke, Ridge and Taylor in the same loop and this secret gets very crowded, very fast.

Carter Is Running Out of Room Too

On Wednesday, September 30, Carter tries to get through to Steffy, and she tries right back. On Friday, October 2, Steffy raises concerns about Carter’s plan. Watch the timing, because she balks the day after Daphne makes it a family affair. Carter was already pouring a flask into his coffee on September 23, which is not the posture of a man sleeping well.

Is Steffy Pregnant on Bold and the Beautiful?

Yes. Steffy Forrester Finnegan found out from a home test that aired September 10, and she told Carter there was “zero chance” the baby was Finn’s because he had been working such long hours. That is her belief, not a lab result. No doctor, no ultrasound, no paternity test and no due date has aired, and Finn has never been ruled out on screen.

Now do the math the show keeps handing you. If the baby dates to that August night, a doctor counting the usual way would put Steffy at about eight and a half weeks by October 1 and around 15 weeks by mid-November. Carter’s cover story depends on a frozen-egg transfer that has not happened yet, so any scan would show a pregnancy weeks older than the procedure. And Steffy is married to a doctor.

Who Blows It Open First

Our money is on Steffy Forrester Finnegan herself, and probably not to Finn. She has started to confess three times since August and lost her nerve or been cut off every time, and Friday’s concerns read like the next crack. Taylor is the likeliest person on the other side of that conversation.

Finn is the bigger bomb, and he is on a delay. He cannot do the math until someone tells him there is a pregnancy, and the day he hears it, the dates stop working. Don’t be surprised if the writers save that scene for November sweeps. Reading between the lines, his medical eye could expose the surrogacy lie long before anyone settles who the father is.
