The Most Radiant Liar At The Newman Ranch

Victoria Newman is having the time of her life, and she’s lying to every single person who loves her to keep it that way. She blindfolded Kyle Abbott in a room at the Riverbank Motel, ran ice cubes over him, and then drew up a “verbal contract” for their little arrangement. Now they’ve traded the motel for a secret apartment they’ve dubbed their “danger zone,” where the CEO cancels her meetings to play Never Have I Ever for clothes.

Good for her, honestly. Victoria has spent years carrying the family on her back, and she finally found a younger man who likes taking orders from a Newman. But every flushed cheek comes with a cover story. The texts are “a funny GIF,” “a meme,” “spam.” Her mother, Nikki Newman, noticed how energized she seemed. Her father, Victor Newman, told her he’d never seen her look more radiant.

Radiant. Remember that word.

Kyle is lying just as fast. He told his father he was meeting his fitness instructor. When Esther Valentine teased that his glow must be Claire Newman‘s doing, he insisted they aren’t back together. Both of them agree it’s “just fun and games.” Nobody on this show has ever said that and meant it.

Claire Already Asked The Wrong Question

Here’s the knife twist. Claire is the one pushing her mother to get back out there. She told Victoria to be “more selfish,” asked if she was ready to date, and said she doesn’t want her to be alone. She wants her mom to find a man who appreciates her.

She has no idea her mom already found one, and he used to be hers. When Claire asked about getting over an ex, Victoria asked point blank whether Claire was still hung up on Kyle. Claire swore she’s moving on. Imagine that same conversation after the truth comes out, when Victoria has to explain that she was grilling her daughter about Kyle while sneaking off to meet him. There isn’t a mother-daughter pep talk in the world that survives that.

Summer Is Never Really Gone

Then there’s Summer Newman, Victoria’s niece and Kyle’s ex-wife. She may be out of town, but she’s raising Kyle’s son, and Kyle recently put the boy on a plane to see her. Her father, Nick Newman, even told Kyle that his sister would never give him the time of day. Oh, Nick.

The walls are already closing in. Matt Clark spotted Kyle leaving the motel, and then Phyllis Summers showed up wondering what her former son-in-law was doing at a place like that. Victoria Newman was a few feet away, listening through the door. Phyllis guessed wrong this time. She won’t guess wrong twice, and if Summer’s mother figures it out, Summer hears about it before the next flight lands.

A Baby Would Blow The Lid Off Everything

Now add a pregnancy, and there’s no cover story left. Victoria would have to sit Claire down and explain that the father is the man her daughter swore she was over, the same man she grilled Claire about while sneaking off to meet him. Summer, who is already raising Kyle’s son, would find out that Kyle’s next child is coming from Victoria, of all people.

Then there’s Billy Abbott. Picture his face when his ex-wife turns up pregnant by Kyle, right in the middle of his own wedding season. Victoria Newman couldn’t hide a pregnancy from Victor for long, not when he’s already commenting on her glow. And “just fun and games” doesn’t come with a birth plan.
