Jack’s plan gave everyone proof of concept, and the concept it proved was not the one anyone wanted. Patty Williams does not calculate risk the way a rational person would when Jack is involved. She drops everything else the moment he needs her, real or staged, and that instinct has already nearly cost him his life more than once before.
Jack risking his own safety to lure her out worked exactly as intended and still solved nothing. Fans have questioned before how much danger Jack keeps underestimating when it comes to Patty, and this trap only adds fresh evidence to that pile. Patty Williams is not a problem that gets solved by catching her once, and everyone involved in setting this trap is about to learn that the hard way.
