LAST TOAST BEFORE THE SHOVEL! GH’s Drew Cain Pops The Champagne While A Hand Waves Hello From The Dirt
GH’s Drew Cain toasts something big while a hand turns up in the nature preserve, and everyone closing in has a reason to keep digging.
DREW CAIN IS CELEBRATING WHILE HIS PROBLEMS KEEP SURFACING
TL;DR: GH’s Drew Cain has a champagne glass in one hand and a fresh pile of trouble in the other, because the nature preserve is giving up pieces of the secret he and Ava thought was buried for good.

Pop The Cork, Lose The Plot
Drew Cain built his whole freedom on one rule: nobody finds the body. He told Ava Jerome himself that if they turn on each other they both end up in prison, but as long as nobody finds Jack Brennan, they are safe. Lovely speech, delivered by a man who disabled the cameras and let an innocent woman take the fall. It only works if the ground keeps its mouth shut.
Port Charles soil has never kept its mouth shut a day in its life. Outback dug a hand out of the nature preserve, then carried a finger into the Quartermaine mansion and dropped it on the floor in front of Carly Spencer, Valentin Cassadine and Danny Morgan, which is subtle only if you hate subtlety. Danny had already admitted what he saw floating in the Metro Court pool, and Valentin could smell death on the walk through the preserve before Carly tripped and landed face first on that hand. Nobody has said whose it is. Everybody in that scene has a pretty good guess.
Here is what makes it worse. Carly pulled the Metro Court security footage and saw that Charlotte Cassadine and Danny were at the hotel on the very night Jack was last seen alive. Valentin and Carly told Danny to keep quiet, which is sweet, but a secret held by a teenager and two people who already broke into an office is not exactly a vault.

Every Door Is Opening At Once
The hand is not even the worst of it. Drew Cain’s real problem is that every person with a badge or a grudge is moving at the same time. Joe Fitzpatrick opened an active case file on Jack and has Ava down as the last person seen with him. William Baines cornered Ava by the elevators and promised the WSB would be in touch, then told Nina Reeves, still cuffed to a table, that “we may have rushed to judgment.” Even Carly lied to Joe about where she was when the hotel’s security system failed, which tells you how nervous everyone is about this case. The WSB’s list of other suspects includes Nina’s own daughter. The frame Drew hung on Nina is sliding off the wall, and the next name in line belongs to the woman who knows where everything is buried.
The Partner Who Is Shopping For Immunity
Ava has hired Alexis Davis and confessed the sleeping pill, with one tiny omission: Jack was already dead and buried. She wants full immunity for testifying against Drew, and she made the call while watching him comfort Scout over her mother’s Halloween anniversary, which is a cold way to collect a favor. Tuesday’s spoiler has Ava dodging Alexis’s questions, so the deal is not smooth. Friday’s has Alexis giving Jason Morgan, Drew’s own twin, an earful. Why is she unloading on Jason on the same day his brother is clinking glasses?
What Is He Toasting, Anyway?
Friday’s spoiler only says Drew’s celebration may be premature, so the reason for the bubbly is anybody’s guess. Maybe he thinks the libel suit has the reporter’s article on ice. Maybe he thinks the man who recanted his own interview has closed that door for good. Maybe Nina in custody feels like a finished job.
Whatever it is, it was poured with a hand in the dirt, a detective with a file and a partner talking to a lawyer. Premature is a generous word. Drew Cain is toasting a plan that now has a shovel pointed at it, and a woman who has been cornered by the WSB does not stay loyal to a man who said she would go down with him.

A Toast With Dirt On The Rim
Port Charles keeps handing back what Drew Cain tried to bury, one piece at a time. Who gets to the rest of Jack first, the people with the badges or the people with the grudges? And when somebody finally asks Ava the right question, does she protect him or herself?
