Asked in an online Q&A whether she ever met Jamal’s mom, Emma answered, “Keep watching to see if she makes an appearance!” TV Shows Ace reported on Oct. 23 that Kim Menzies shared a similar message on her own Instagram story.
TLC hasn’t announced Kim for 90 Day: Hunt for Love Season 2, and a tease is not a booking. But Kim is already part of this season in one way, and the network put it right in an episode title. Here is what is on the record, and where a cameo could land.
Jamal Menzies Already Called His Mom
The Oct. 19 episode was called “The Boy Who Called His Mom.” TLC’s synopsis said Jamal Menzies was pursuing new single Ericka, but his chase hit a snag because he was still struggling to move on from Emma. Per TV Shows Ace, a frustrated Jamal picked up the phone and called Kim.
Days later, Jamal took fan questions on Instagram, including questions about his mom, according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. His answers about Emma were the headline. “Emma is exactly my type, but she’s hooked up with my friend Rob, and our friendship means a lot,” he said. He added, “I’m a weak man when it comes to temptation.”
Will Kim Menzies Be on 90 Day: Hunt for Love?
Nobody official has said yes. TV Shows Ace itself noted the “keep watching” line could simply be a tease.
Here is the twist. TLC named a whole episode after Jamal calling his mother, yet the network’s listings for the next two episodes never mention Kim at all. If Emma’s tease is more than a wink, the payoff likely sits later in the season, or at the Tell All.
One listing will make fans squint. TLC’s description of the Oct. 26 Sheet Talking companion episode says, “Kim, Tiffany and Emily are shocked at Emma’s behavior at the resort.” TLC doesn’t give a last name. Could Jamal’s mom already be on the couch? We’ll be watching.
Where to Watch for Kim on Nov. 2 and Nov. 9
On Monday, Nov. 2, “The Boy Who Cried Love” brings a salsa night that “gets heated as Jamal and Emma clash with the group.” The same hour carries Razvan Ciocoi’s move on Iris Castillo, so it is a crowded night.
On Monday, Nov. 9, “The Girl Who Saw Red” turns up the heat. TLC says a double date leads to surprising revelations, Jamal bonds with Chloe and Emma gets jealous. Then someone named Tanya delivers tough love that pushes Emma to reconsider her future with Jamal. TLC hasn’t said who Tanya is, so don’t assume she’s family.
Both episodes air at 8 p.m. on TLC and stream the next day on HBO Max and discovery+. If Kim Menzies calls again, those are the nights Jamal would need her most.
Kim Menzies Has Walked Off a Stage for Jamal Before
Fans who think Kim would just smile and wave should remember May. At The Single Life Season 5 Tell All, which began airing May 18, Kim learned that her close friend Liz Woods had slept with Jamal. “You being one of my best friends, that crosses a line for me,” Kim said, and she walked off the stage.
The two women made up before the Tell All wrapped. Jamal, for his part, called his relationship with his mom tight and called her his best friend. That is the woman a Hunt for Love cameo would bring to Puerto Rico.
Emma Perry’s Rob Warne Problem
Emma arrived with history. At the Before the 90 Days Season 8 Tell All in April, she said she hooked up with Rob Warne after her split from Ziad El Yahyaoui. Rob was Jamal’s friend. Then, in the season premiere, Emma revealed that she and Jamal hooked up two days before the retreat.
Jamal now says he and Rob are no longer friends, and that the split wasn’t about Emma. “There’s a lot more to the story,” he said. Kim has not said a word in public about Emma or Rob.
Reading between the lines, that silence is what makes the tease juicy. Would Kim Menzies welcome the woman her son can’t stop thinking about, or would she side with whatever tough love Tanya is serving? My gut tells me a mom who walked off one stage won’t sit quietly on another.
