ETHAN LOVETT RIGGED A DNA SWAB SO PHOEBE COULD BE ADOPTED, AND NOW JUDE’S CLAIM PUTS EVERYONE WHO KNEW ON THE HOOK

TL;DR: No, Ethan Lovett is not Phoebe’s father. He swapped his DNA sample in June so her adoption could go through. Now Jude says “my daughter,” and Ava, Hudson and Alexis stand closest to the lie.

The Swab That Built Phoebe’s Adoption

Is Ethan Lovett Phoebe’s father on General Hospital? No, and he said so himself on July 2. But by then his lie had already done its job. In this week’s promo, Jude turns up at the Quartermaine door and tells Brook Lynn Quartermaine, “I’m here to see my daughter.”

Here is the paper trail. On June 4, Alexis Davis confronted Ethan with a photo of him and Delilah Wilson. He said they “hooked up once” and the baby was his. Then he talked Alexis into a closed adoption, signing away his rights so Brook Lynn and Harrison Chase could raise her.

On June 17, Elizabeth Webber swabbed his cheek for the test meant to prove he was the father, then stepped out. He pocketed his own sample and slipped in one he had lifted from the PCPD evidence room. “I’m good,” he said. We called it the sneakiest DNA swap in Port Charles the day it aired.

On August 4 the adoption went through and Phoebe Chase was theirs. That very day, Ethan was on the run in Norway, and he has not been back.

Did Ethan protect that baby or doom her? Write to the editor at amber@soapoperamagazine.com and tell us.

Who Knew Ethan Lovett Was Lying About Phoebe

Three people know the truth on screen. In Oslo, Hudson Parker cornered Ethan, called him a thief who had stolen from the wrong man, and threatened him. Ethan then phoned Ava Jerome and begged her never to reveal he is not Phoebe’s biological father. Hudson heard every word through a bug he had planted in the hotel room.

Alexis knew the claim, because she built the adoption on it. She even warned Ethan that Ava might suspect. Nothing on screen shows Alexis knows the swab was rigged. Liz took the sample and saw nothing, and not one scene shows Brook Lynn or Chase has a clue.

Now the part nobody is lining up. On October 27, Ava called Alexis, “calling in a favor.” Nobody has said what the favor is, and Ava has a Brennan problem of her own. But the woman Ethan begged to keep quiet just reached out to the lawyer who papered the adoption on his word. Coincidence in Port Charles?

Whose DNA Did Ethan Swap Into Phoebe’s Paternity Test?

Nobody has said. Circulating spoiler chatter calls it a cold case box, but on screen it came from the evidence room. So follow the swab. The test existed to prove Ethan was the father, and a stranger’s sample would only pass if it matched Phoebe.

If the swap did its job, the lab file with Ethan’s name on it holds her real father’s DNA, pulled from a Port Charles police evidence room. Reading between the lines, Phoebe’s father once landed on the PCPD’s radar. Jude keeps a pistol in his Metro Court nightstand. If a fresh test puts his DNA next to the one on file, that adoption paperwork reads like a forgery. Track every beat in our two-week spoilers.

Fraud Could Put the Adoption Itself on Trial

Brook Lynn and Chase signed their divorce papers on October 26 and agreed to split Phoebe 50/50. They have been fighting each other. Now they may have to fight a stranger. Spoiler chatter for the week of November 2 has Tracy Quartermaine standing against Jude, and Alexis helping untangle Ethan Lovett’s lies.

Real New York law lets a court “open, vacate or set aside” an adoption order “for fraud, newly discovered evidence or other sufficient cause.” A rigged paternity test is fraud with a hospital label on it. Soap courts rarely follow the rulebook, but if I know these writers, somebody is going to say the word fraud in a courtroom.

Britt Westbourne, Jude and Hudson Parker on General Hospital

Britt Holds the Thread Back to Delilah

Remember who Jude picked first. Britt Westbourne was the doctor who fought to save Delilah in March and called her time of death. We warned that Britt can’t count on Jude staying a stranger, and one reader on the Wub Tub fan blog pegged him as a possible “baby daddy” the day after their night together.

Whether he turns out to be a long-lost Jacks or tied to Hudson’s taped backstory, Jude only needs one swab to blow this open. And Ethan Lovett, last seen in Oslo, may not even be in town when it happens.

Should Brook Lynn and Chase lose Phoebe over a lie they never told? Make your case in the comments section.

Ethan’s Lie Is Living on Borrowed Time

One cheek swab, one closed adoption and three people who know the truth. Our money says the lie cracks the moment Jude asks for a retest, and Alexis is the one forced to explain how her paperwork got built on sand.

Team Ethan says he saved that baby from a dangerous man. Team Truth says Brook Lynn and Chase deserved to know what they signed. Which side are you on? Pick yours on our Facebook page.
