JUDE AND THE DECEPTION VOTE ROCK THIS GENERAL HOSPITAL RECAP

TL;DR: This General Hospital Recap catches Tracy Quartermaine and Brook Lynn Quartermaine steering a vote that hands Deception to ELQ, while Jude turns up at the Quartermaine mansion to claim baby Phoebe as his daughter. Chase storms off on Dante Falconeri, Ava Jerome hires Alexis Davis to flip on Drew Cain, and William Baines tells Nina Reeves that her own daughter is now a suspect in Jack Brennanโ€™s disappearance.

The Deception Vote Splits the Qs

Brook Lynn Quartermaine proved that nothing says healthy divorce recovery like a corporate coup before dinner. Freshly single and stubbornly dry-eyed, she took her seat at the meeting Tracy Quartermaine had summoned with the glow of a woman whose broken heart had been converted into a spreadsheet. Nobody announced the agenda, which is how Quartermaines throw a surprise party. Only on General Hospital does a board meeting come with this much suspense.

Serena Baldwin floated in gushing to Jason Morgan about tagged falcons landing in Florida. Jason had a warning to deliver, but Serena narrated bird migration like a nature documentary, so the warning never left his mouth. Port Charles has seen plenty of tragic miscommunications, yet this is the first one with feathers.

Lucy Coe took the scenic route, stopping at the gatehouse to pitch Willow Cain on a dream house for her and the kids. It was real estate with a side of espionage, and Willow booted her out. Lucy still whispered to a hopeful Serena that she had planted seeds, which in a mansion full of Quartermaines is how you get pruned.

Then came the motion. The Qs wanted Deception folded into ELQ as a subsidiary before the company drowned in its own bills, and Lucy and Serena looked like they had been served papers at a baby shower. Worse, the Qs knew all about Serenaโ€™s scheme to get Jason to sign over Michael Corinthosโ€™s shares. Serena gasped that Jason had tattled. Jason calmly noted that his silence came with an expiration date, namely the moment somebody asked. Tracy beamed like a kid at Christmas, because she had asked, knowing Lucy could never resist mischief with Michael out of town.

Lucy begged Jason to think of Alan Quartermaine, and Serena pleaded for him to show some backbone. Jason voted with the Qs anyway. Lucy called it revenge, Brook Lynn called it even, and Lucy then informed Jason that his honor had checked out and only a Quartermaine remained. Tracy purred that he certainly was.

Did Jason do right by ELQ, or did he betray Lucy and Serena after all that talk about honor? Email us your take at amber@soapoperamagazine.com, we want to hear every theory.

Jude Comes for Baby Phoebe

Brook Lynn answered the front door and found a stranger on the porch, Brittโ€™s mystery man, who now had a name: Jude. He announced that he had come for his daughter, and with baby Phoebe living under that roof, the math did itself. Brook Lynn had lost a husband and won a company in the same day, and now a man with a strangerโ€™s confidence wanted a word about her little girl.

Rewind to Aurora Wellness, where the universe was setting the table. Britt Westbourne strolled into Aurora Wellness daydreaming about her night with a nameless hottie, then ducked behind a wall when she heard Dante Falconericonsoling Chase over his divorce. She bolted to tell Willow, as if delivering a hot mail route.

At Willowโ€™s place, Britt warned her cousin to stay clear of Chase, which is rich advice from a woman taking romantic guidance from a bar stool. Willow noticed Brittโ€™s sunny mood, and Britt confessed to the one-night stand. Why not seconds? Because once she hunted him down she would uncover something awful, since perfect men always come with a catch. That is the logic of someone who refused to learn a name, and the universe, being a soap, had already arranged for him to walk up a driveway.

Chase Rages, Willow Reaches Out

Over at Aurora Wellness, Danteโ€™s sympathy landed like a fire alarm. Chase described a nasty sit-down with the divorce lawyers that ended with the couple boarding a plane for a fast-track divorce. He confessed to hesitating before signing, but he could not pardon the Qs for pushing Lulu Spencer to print falsehoods about Willow. Dante defended Luluโ€™s tape of Sidwell, while Chase insisted the man had motive to fib. Dante floated that the story might hold up, and Chase bristled that Willow was no poisoner.

Dante then said the quiet part out loud: Chase needs Willow spotless, or else he torched his marriage for someone who played him. Chase growled that the marriage collapsed on its own merits and stomped out. Dante was the only person in this scene with a working smoke detector.

Willow heard the news and itched to check on Chase, but Britt vetoed that, especially with a libel suit pending over an article that happens to be accurate. Willow conceded she ought to have ignored the story, though Chaseโ€™s faith in her kept her fighting. Suing over the truth because a heartbroken man still thinks youโ€™re good is a very special kind of tragic.

Ava Lawyers Up Against Drew

Ava Jerome learned the downside of tangoing with Drew Cain: when the music stops, somebody pays the band. She stormed into Miller & Davis hoping to flip on him first, and Alexis Davis took the case with the enthusiasm of a root canal patient. Under privilege, Ava confessed that cops and the WSB had grilled her about Jack Brennan, and that she and Drew had drugged an agent. She swore she never wanted Drew as a teammate, only protection for her daughter against Sonny Corinthos.

Alexis floated a scenario where Jack tumbled into trouble while impaired and washed ashore. Ava nodded politely and skipped the footnote about him being in the ground. Alexis offered to find a mercy precedent if Ava testified, and Ava held out for total immunity. Privilege protects what you say to a lawyer, not what you leave out.

Everyone Is Hunting Jackโ€™s Body

In her office, Carly Spencer and Valentin Cassadine agreed that saving Luluโ€™s libel mess meant locating Jack ahead of the WSB. Valentin admitted he now suspected Jack was dead. Since Ava had the final sighting, they pegged her as the culprit with help from Nina. Carly recalled the laundry cart left in the garage and decided that was the getaway vehicle for a body, one that could not have traveled far. No body, no proof, so Carly vowed to keep digging. They came so close to the truth that it practically arrived with a shovel, then handed that shovel to the wrong woman.

Meanwhile, Nina Reeves sat in a Port Charles safe house run by the WSB, transferred out of Steinmauer, and William Baines paid a call. Fresh information, he said, had clouded her role in Jackโ€™s vanishing. Nina insisted on her innocence and wondered whether Jack met a bad end or she was a fall guy for an agency cover-up. Baines claimed the WSB had no clue what happened and admitted he believed her, and Nina exhaled for roughly one breath. Then he announced a reopened investigation with new suspects, with her daughter on the list. Nina may be the first prisoner to go from โ€œI believe youโ€ to โ€œweโ€™re investigating your childโ€ in a single chat.

A Mansion Full of Surprises

Two separate bombshells landed at the mansion. Tracy bagged a subsidiary, Lucy and Serena learned what Jasonโ€™s silence was worth, and Jude turned up claiming baby Phoebe, which left Brittโ€™s no-names policy looking like a risk management failure.

Everyone else made messes of their own. Chase lost a marriage and then his patience with the one friend willing to be honest, Ava hired a lawyer for half a confession, and Nina learned her best defense had become her daughterโ€™s problem. Even by Port Charles standards, that was a lot of Wednesday.

I am so sick of this storyline! I keep watching with the hope that Sonny will be found innocent for the beatings of Curtis and Sidwell.I also want Willow,Drew and Ava to pay for what they did and don’t get me started about Josslyn! They need fresh storylines, not recycled crap like we’ve been seeing!
