ABBY NEWMAN COULD BE CARRYING A MIRACLE IN GENOA CITY

Abby Newman asks the question she gave up on years ago on Young and the Restless, and with Devon’s ex headed to town, a miracle could come with a mountain of drama.

The Baby Nobody Saw Coming

The most shocking part of Abby Newman’s pregnancy question is that anyone is asking it at all. Doctors found scarring on her uterine wall that stopped an embryo from implanting, which meant her body was never going to carry a baby. Mariah Copeland stepped in as surrogate, Devon Winters stood beside her through all of it, and Dominic arrived to make their family feel complete. So when Abby gasps “Oh my god! Could I be pregnant?” at Society on Young and the Restless, she is holding a thought she stopped letting herself have years ago.

Her question lands in the middle of a baby debate, and Chelsea Lawson is arguing the other side with every symptom she can name. She would be the one with the insomnia, the indigestion and the nausea, thank you very much. If anyone at that table would happily trade places with Chelsea and her complaints, it is the woman who was told she never could.

A pregnancy would mean everything to Abby, and not only because of the baby. She would finally carry her own child. Dominic would get a full brother or sister. And she and Devon would get a bond nobody could chip, which matters because Devon spiraled after Dominic’s kidnapping and the marriage felt every bit of it.

A Miracle Still Needs A Safety Net

If the diagnosis that kept Abby from carrying Dominic still holds, this is no cute surprise from the stork. It would be a very high risk pregnancy from day one, with specialists, scans and a calendar that belongs to the doctors. The one thing every doctor would order is calm, and Genoa City does not stock any. Abby Newman waited years for this, and she would have to guard it like a vault.

An Ex Walks In At The Worst Possible Time

Enter Roxanne Barrington, Devon’s ex, who is due in Genoa City this month with all the subtlety of a marching band. Devon is also planning a visit to Beyond the Gates with Lily Winters, which leaves Abby with plenty of room to stew.

Roxanne wouldn’t need much. A hand on a sleeve, a laugh a beat too long, an old inside joke whispered in Devon’s ear. Does Abby’s stress climb? Absolutely. Can she afford a scene? Not a chance. No tossed drinks, no screaming match on the patio, nothing that raises her blood pressure. If Roxanne gets too flirty, too handsy and too close, Abby Newmanwould have to protect the pregnancy and save her marriage with one hand tied behind her back.

Is Roxanne Hiding A Child?

Now crank the stress up to one hundred. Suppose Roxanne isn’t strolling back for an old flame at all. Suppose she is carrying a secret, a child she had with Devon, and he has no idea. How does Devon react to a kid he never got to meet? What does Abby do while she is carrying the baby her doctors said was impossible? And where does that leave Dominic, who may finally get a full sibling right as a half-sibling walks through the door?

Who Protects A Miracle?

Abby Newman asked a simple question at Society, and nothing about the answer will be simple, whichever way it goes. A miracle baby, a marriage that needs tending, an ex with a flirty streak and a possible secret child is a lot for one Genoa City family to hold at once. Will Abby get her happy ending, or will Roxanne’s return make the next months the hardest of her life?
