The Young and the Restless
MIRACLE OR MESS? Is Y&R Setting Up a Pregnancy Twist That Turns Devon Winters’ Marriage Upside Down?
Devon Winters went from sperm donor to Abby’s husband on Young and the Restless, and one surprise pregnancy could finally demote him.
DEVON WINTERS NEEDS A DEMOTION BACK TO SPERM DONOR
TL;DR: Young and the Restless fans watched Devon Winters go from sperm donor to godfather to “Daddy” to Abby’s husband, and he never once stayed in his lane. Now Abby is wondering if she’s pregnant, the show says their marriage will be tested, and Devon’s ex is coming back to town. The Y&R spoilers could finally put Devon right back where he started.

He Was Only Supposed to Be the Donor
Let’s go back to the beginning. Abby Newman couldn’t carry a baby, and Chance Chancellor couldn’t provide the goods. So Abby asked her best friend Devon Winters to be the sperm donor, and Mariah Copeland carried the baby.
Everyone signed a contract. Devon was the donor and godfather, with an open-door policy so he could visit whenever he wanted. That should have been plenty.
It wasn’t. Within months, Devon wanted overnights, then shared custody, then the title of “Daddy.” Somebody should have stapled that contract to his forehead.
He even told the baby he’d be staying at “Daddy’s” house while Abby was still calling him Devon. That’s when we knew Devon Winters had no intention of staying a donor.

From Donor to Roommate to Husband
Then Chance left town on an assignment with no return date, and Devon slid right into his spot. Abby and the baby moved into his penthouse. The two of them slept together on his couch and called it a mistake, for about a minute.
Was Devon waiting from afar this whole time? He went from sperm donor to roommate to husband, and he married Abby in 2024. Chance is gone, and Devon got the house, the wife, and the kid.
That’s not a love story. That’s a hostile takeover.
Even when Mariah took off with the baby back in January, Devon got to play the hero dad searching beside his wife. Of course he did.
Abby’s Possible Miracle Baby
Now the preview has Abby asking, “Oh my God, could I be pregnant?” That’s huge for a woman whose doctor told her years ago that scarring left no place for an embryo to implant.
If Abby is pregnant, it’s a miracle. But the show already told us the marriage will be tested and that Abby will turn to someone from her past. If there’s a baby on the way, how sure is anybody that it’s Devon’s?
Imagine Devon Winters, the man who never stayed in his lane, finding out the baby belongs to somebody else. Wouldn’t that be some sweet soap justice?
Who Is Abby’s Someone From the Past?
And who exactly is this someone from Abby’s past? Chance is gone, so the list of candidates gets interesting fast. Abby has a long history in Genoa City, and not all of it involves Devon.
Roxanne Is Coming Back
As if that weren’t enough, Devon’s ex Roxanne Barrington is set to return in November. The timing couldn’t be better.
Devon has a habit of collecting whatever he wants and calling it family. Watching him squirm while his wife wonders about a baby and his ex shows up at the door would make our whole month. And let’s be honest, he’s earned it.
He’s off in Fairmont Crest with Lily Winters this week, crashing the Beyond the Gates crossover. Maybe he should stay there a while.

Put Him Back Where He Started
We’ve been saying it for years. Devon needed to stay in his lane from day one, and he never did. He took the baby, the penthouse, and the wife, and he never once asked whether he should.
If this pregnancy storyline hands Devon Winters a demotion back to donor status, we’ll be popping champagne. Somebody give Abby a story where Devon isn’t the center of it. He can be the fun godfather again, preferably from Fairmont Crest.
