This Beyond the Gates Recap catches Hayley’s confirmed pregnancy, Bill’s paternity test, and the Duprees planning a watch party for Martin.
HAYLEY’S PREGNANCY IS CONFIRMED IN THIS BEYOND THE GATES RECAP
TL;DR: This Beyond the Gates Recap catches Hayley Lawson leaving her ultrasound with a heartbeat on record and a souvenir photo in hand, while Bill Hamilton demands proof of paternity. Dani Dupree, Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne, and Chelsea Hamilton brace for the fallout, the Dupree family plans a watch party for Martin Richardson’s election night, and Tyrell Richardson comes home to treat Samantha Richardson to waffles.

Hayley’s Heartbeat Becomes Official
Hayley Lawson strolled into Garland Memorial with the confidence of a woman who has never lost a staring contest with a medical bill, and for the first time in the history of Beyond the Gates, the con artist had a doctor on her side. Bill Hamilton showed up for the ultrasound looking like a man reporting to his own deposition, with Ted Richardson and Shanice Johnson hovering nearby as a very awkward welcome committee.
Hayley opened by ordering the men not to huddle and scheme the way they did when Leslie Thomas was expecting Eva Thomas. Low blow? Absolutely. Inaccurate? Not even a little, and Ted looked like he wanted the floor to open up. He recovered by declaring the OB incorruptible, a sentence that tells you everything about how this neighborhood handles its medical staff. Then he parked himself at the nurses’ hub, because Bill was going to need a friend, and Ted knows a thing or two about being the man in the waiting room of a scandalous pregnancy.
Inside the exam room, Shanice asked Hayley whether she truly wanted Bill present. Hayley bristled so fast she nearly pulled something. She was not faking this, thank you very much. Bill, meanwhile, told her to route every future conversation through his attorney, and when the doctor walked in, he announced the divorce within seconds, which is a bold icebreaker for a first prenatal visit. Then the screen lit up, the heartbeat filled the room, and the timeline lined up with the calendar, leaving Bill squirming in a chair that suddenly seemed three sizes too small.
Hayley asked for the printout and said she wanted to treasure it forever, and then her eyes filled with tears of joy that arrived so on cue they should have come with a coupon code. The doctor booked bloodwork and a follow-up visit, and Bill used the opening to demand a paternity test. Hayley agreed with suspicious ease. Shanice swabbed him, drew her blood, and then got handed the most delicate courier job in Fairmont Crest: carry the samples to the lab yourself, hand them to someone you trust, and wait out the lab’s turnaround of several days. She agreed, looking like a nurse who signed up for nursing and accidentally landed in a spy thriller.
Once Shanice left, Hayley swore she was not conning anyone. Bill declined to discuss it until a lab said the baby was his, and informed her he was sick of the sight of her. Out he went. Alone in the room, Hayley purred “Cha-ching!” like a slot machine hitting its jackpot, and the audience was left to wonder whether that was joy, greed, or both. Bill found Ted at the hub to say the timing matched, waved off coffee, and in the elevator seriously considered calling his ex, which is the single worst idea available to him at any given moment. Meanwhile at the hub, Hayley booked her next appointment, and Ted told her Bill would not be holding her hand through any of it. She scoffed. Of course she did.

The Hamilton Women Brace Themselves
Over at Dani Dupree’s place, coffee and kisses with Andre Richardson came with an apology for his late studio night and a recap of the party that Hayley’s baby news had hijacked. Andre wondered aloud whether the “maybe baby” might belong to Bill, with the delicate touch of a man who has not yet learned when to stop. Dani admitted she had already gone to see Bill, and then Chelsea Hamilton and Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne arrived with pastries and the stunned look of daughters who had been handed a plot twist before breakfast.
The three of them pondered Hayley as a mother, and Naomi drew a comparison to Leslie on the parenting front, which is exactly as flattering as it sounds. Dani was convinced Bill would step up. The girls kept spinning worst-case scenarios until Dani begged them to stop, at which point Naomi promised a paternity test and Dani looked thrilled. The sisters headed for Bill’s office so Naomi could wrap up the paperwork, and Dani sent them off with a request not to let Hayley under their skin, calling the woman a festering zit, which is not the pregnancy glow she was hoping for.
When the girls had gone, Dani told Andre that Bill had informed her his resentment ruled him out as a decent dad. She refused to believe it. Andre guessed Bill was simply furious and might change his tune when the baby became real, which only made Dani more irritated. Dani confessed she was sick of discussing the two of them, and Andre laughed and told her to let the anger out. She did, admitting she was livid, but only on behalf of her daughters. Then she tossed the whole subject aside and made out with her husband, which is how you change the channel.
Naomi and Chelsea were already at Bill’s office, still reeling from news of the baby and wondering what it would do to their father. Bill walked in with the update: the ultrasound had happened, the paternity test was done, and now the family would wait for results. Hayley, he noted, had seemed awfully sure of herself. Both daughters wrapped him in a hug, the kind that says “we love you” and “please don’t do anything dramatic” in the same squeeze.

Martin’s Watch Party Takes Shape
The Richardson brownstone was practically humming. Martin Richardson had glowing results from his fireside sit-down with his grandfather, and Smitty’s arrest video had finally slid off the trending list, which is the closest thing to good news a man in his position gets. Tyrell Richardson turned up to hugs from both dads, in town for the vote and earning school credit by working the polls, a nerdy flex if there ever was one. Samantha Richardson came barreling downstairs, and she and her brother traded insults about not missing each other before hugging it out. She delivered the Hayley gossip, and in return the whole family drafted her into election duty.
Anita Dupree and Vernon Dupree were basking in the same good news, reading it in an actual newspaper like dignified royalty. That sparked a plan for a watch party on election night, and a Smith Island Cake was already underway in the kitchen, which sent Vernon into such a happy state that he started texting the entire family. When Martin and Smitty arrived, Hayley’s pregnancy came up, and Anita offered her usual calm analysis: probably fake. Vernon steered everybody back to the big day ahead, and the grandparents were tickled to learn the kids would be working the polls.
Martin asked to include Eva in the festivities, and Vernon was fine with it, though Martin promised to check with Kat Richardson first so nobody got blindsided. Then Martin thanked his granddad for pointing him down this road, win or lose, and told Anita he admired the spark in her, which she accepted like a queen. Smitty worried his presence might send the room sideways, but Anita chose optimism and everyone followed her lead, because nobody argues with Anita once she picks hope.
Tyrell Takes Samantha for Waffles
Tyrell treated Samantha to shakes and waffles at Orphie Gene’s Diner, where the big-brother speeches came pouring out. He guessed the past few weeks had been rough after their dad’s arrest, and Samantha admitted the whole ordeal had been huge, though things had calmed down. Then her voice wobbled: she was terrified of the thought of Smitty heading to prison.
Tyrell told her she did not have to be the strong one, because he’d look after her, which was exactly the kind of sentence that makes a diner go quiet. Then the conversation turned to his romantic situation, because siblings cannot help themselves. An ex wanted him back and he wasn’t sure, and he dropped a second girl’s name into the mix to keep things interesting. Samantha pushed him to give the ex another shot. Tyrell shrugged that campus life rewrote the rules, the old nerd was retired, and girls actually noticed him now, which is a sentence every freshman has said and every sibling has heard.
