General Hospital
WE WANTED MORE! GH’s Sam McCall Deserved Far More Than A Few Sentences On Her Anniversary
Sam McCall’s anniversary got a blip on General Hospital, and fans wanted a deeper walk down memory lane with more stories and memories.
SAM MCCALL GOT A BLIP WHILE EVERYONE ELSE GOT THE EPISODE
TL;DR: Sam McCall’s anniversary got a few quick sentences on General Hospital, and fans were hoping for a much deeper walk down memory lane.

A Few Sentences Is Not A Memorial
Sam McCall was owed more than a blip, and a blip is exactly what General Hospital delivered. The spoilers promised that Jason Morgan and Danny Morgan would mark the anniversary of her death, which sounded like a whole day of stories, a few laughs, and a little ugly crying. What aired was a handful of lines at the boathouse and then a hard left turn into a crime scene.
Nobody is asking for a full episode. What fans wanted was a few more memories, a few more stories, and a slow stroll down memory lane with Danny and Jason sitting right there. The show clearly knows how heavy this date is, too. Less than a week earlier, Scout Cain told her dad, Drew Cain, how the day her mom passed ruined Halloween for her, and Drew told her to think of a happy Halloween memory instead. Lovely advice. We would have loved to borrow one, because the episode never handed us a single happy memory to hold.

The Boathouse Had The Perfect Setup
Give the scene credit for its ingredients: a father, a son, the right date on the calendar, and not one interruption. Then Danny came clean about how he and Charlotte Cassadine found Jack Brennan’s body, added that Carly Spencer and Valentin Cassadine knew, and Sam McCall’s day of remembrance quietly left the building.
Jason bolted to the nature preserve, found it crawling with cops, and gave Danny a stern lecture about keeping the secret. It is a gripping scene, no argument here. It is also not the scene the spoilers sold us, and it left Danny with no stories about his mother and Jason with no chance to tell any.
Everyone Else Got Room To Breathe
Here is the part that stings. Monday found plenty of time for Heather Webber to stroll into Cat’s Eye Lounge, announce she bought Wyndemere, and offer Trina Robinson an olive branch. Britt Westbourne and Jude squeezed in a bar-stool reunion at the Brown Dog, and Elizabeth Baldwin and Dante Falconeri traded lingering glances at the hospital.
Every one of those storylines is perfectly fine, and a few are downright fun. But the one date that matters most to this family was skimmed like a menu at a restaurant nobody wanted to be in.

Memory Lane Was Right There
GH already owns the tools. Chase and Brook Lynn Quartermaine got to remember their happier days separately, one on a beach and one on an airplane, with a buried wedding ring for dramatic effect. If the show can spare that kind of time for a divorce, it can spare a few minutes for a mother.
Picture it: Jason sharing a story Danny has never heard, Danny asking a question about his mom, a few seconds of the past on screen. No swelling flashback montage is required, though we would not complain. One quiet scene with real warmth would have done the job beautifully, and fans would have felt seen. Sam McCall is the mother of two kids still living with her absence, and that deserves more screen time than a passing mention.
