General Hospital: Jack Brennan Suspect Board Ranks Ava Jerome, Willow Cain, Drew Cain and Carly Spencer
Our General Hospital Jack Brennan suspect board ranks six names after a preliminary autopsy said Jack drowned with no signs of struggle.
SIX SUSPECTS, ONE POOL AND NO CHARGES IN JACK BRENNAN’S DEATH
TL;DR: Our General Hospital Jack Brennan suspect board ranks six names, from Ava Jerome’s spiked drink to Carly Spencer’s arrest, before the WSB and the PCPD dig in the week of November 9.
A Drowning With No Struggle Changes Everything
Here is our General Hospital suspect board for the week the case gets louder. On Tuesday, November 3, Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) and the PCPD received a preliminary autopsy report saying Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) drowned, with no signs of struggle. Nobody has been charged.
The day before, Joe arrested Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) after catching them leaving Jack’s grave, as our November 2 recap lays out. Spoiler chatter for the week of November 9 has the WSB and the PCPD both asking who is really behind Jack’s death, and why. So we ranked the field, clue by clue.
No. 1: Ava Jerome Put the Pill in His Drink
Ava Jerome (Maura West) tops the board for one aired act. On August 28 she crushed a sleeping pill into Jack’s drink poolside at the Metro Court, so Drew could search his room. My gut says a drowning with no struggle fits a man too drowsy to fight, and that drowsiness came from Ava’s hand.
Joe calls her the last person seen with Jack. On October 28 she admitted the pill to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and asked for immunity to testify against Drew, right after she called in Alexis’s favor. On Tuesday Ava hid behind attorney-client privilege and walked out, and that privilege keeps Alexis from telling the police a word.

No. 2: Willow Cain Is Our Outside Pick
On August 26, Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) told her mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), she had recorded Jack Brennan confessing what he did for her. She refused to delete it and warned that if Jack tried to take her down, she would take him down with her. This is also the woman who held Drew captive on a paralytic this year.
In September, Chris McKenna told TV Insider, “I hope that Willow killed him.” On October 28 the WSB told Nina it believes her and that the reopened case will look at other suspects, including her daughter.

No. 3: Drew Cain Supplied the Pill and Dug the Hole
The pill was Drew’s. On September 1 Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Ava wheeled Jack out in a laundry cart, and on September 2 they buried him on the Quartermaine nature preserve, the same grave that could expose Ava and Drew now. On September 3 Drew planted Jack’s wallet in Nina’s car.
He sits third only because nothing aired puts him at the pool before Jack went in. ABC’s grid says his celebration on Friday, November 6 may be premature.

Who Killed Jack Brennan on General Hospital?
The show has not said, and nobody has been charged. The preliminary autopsy says Jack drowned with no signs of struggle. The police have only a working idea: that Carly shut down Metro Court security to kill her ex and moved the body with Valentin.
Here is what the PCPD has not pieced together. When Ava and Drew came back to the pool on September 1, Jack was already floating. Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) had found him first and run, which Danny confessed to Jason.
So the pill and the pool may belong to two different people. Whoever made Jack Brennan drowsy is our No. 1. Whoever got him into that water is the question the WSB should be asking.

No. 4: Carly Spencer Is the PCPD’s Favorite
On Tuesday Joe showed Carly a photo of the “C” bracelet found on Jack’s sleeve, and she denied recognizing it, then flashed back to giving Jack’s gift to Charlotte, the moment our bracelet preview saw coming. Joe then produced a social media photo of Carly wearing it.
On October 29 she told Joe a virus crashed the hotel’s security that night. We rank her fourth because we watched that bracelet leave Charlotte’s wrist, not Carly’s.
No. 5: Valentin Cassadine Kept His Mouth Shut
Joe found a baggie in Valentin’s jacket at the preserve, and Valentin will not say how he knew where the body was. He is shielding his daughter, Charlotte, and protection plays a lot like guilt across an interrogation table. On May 8 he fought Jack, and Nina’s syringe hit Jack in the struggle.
No. 6: Nina Reeves Already Paid for Jack Brennan’s Death
Drew’s planted wallet put Nina in WSB custody, and on October 27 the agency admitted it may have rushed to judgment. Carly and Valentin still suspect she was Ava’s accomplice. She sits last because the people who know the most, the WSB, now believe her. Follow every turn in our General Hospital spoilers for the next two weeks.

The Pill Leads the Board, but Willow Cain Is the Name to Watch
Ava made Jack helpless, Drew made him disappear, and Carly wears the cuffs for both. The twist we smell is a second pair of hands at that pool, and Willow had the recording, the threat and the nerve.
