General Hospital’s Rory Gibson Confirms He Is Still on Contract as Michael Corinthos Returns to Screen Nov 4
Is Rory Gibson leaving General Hospital? No. He confirmed he is still on contract as Michael Corinthos returns to screen Wednesday, November 4.
RORY GIBSON CONFIRMS HE IS STILL ON CONTRACT AS MICHAEL CORINTHOS ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
TL;DR: Rory Gibson confirmed he is still on contract as Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, calling the recurring talk “Just rumors.” Michael and Jordan are back on screen Wednesday, November 4, when her treatment in Germany hits a setback.
Michael Corinthos Is Not Going Anywhere
Rory Gibson confirmed he is still on contract at General Hospital as Michael Corinthos, posting the news on Instagram one day before Michael returns to screen with Jordan on Wednesday, November 4. In an Instagram Story he has since taken down, the actor wrote that he had just heard the talk, called it “Just rumors,” and said he was still under contract, Soap Opera Digest reported on November 3.
He signed off with love for the show and a plea for everyone to be good to each other. That is about as gracious as anyone gets about rumors he never started, and it settles the question for now.
How a Casting Column Sparked the Recurring Scare
The scare traced back to Soap Opera Digest’s Comings and Goings column for the week of November 2, which listed Rory Gibson alongside Tanisha Harper as returning. The column said both characters would be back on November 4. It never said either actor had changed status.
Here is the part most readers missed. That “Who’s Coming” list tracks screen time, not paperwork, and it often names contract players simply because they have been off screen for weeks. Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is on contract too, and she landed on the same list the week before after being away since September 17. A listing means a character is coming back, nothing more. For every arrival and exit this season, keep our General Hospital comings and goings tracker handy, along with our comings and goings roundup for the week of November 2.

Is Rory Gibson Leaving General Hospital?
No. Rory Gibson took over the role on May 23, 2025, stepping in for Chad Duell, and he has been on contract ever since. He came to Port Charles after playing Noah Newman on The Young and the Restless from 2021 to 2023, and his own words this week say he is staying put.
So why was Michael gone long enough to worry anyone? Story, not contracts. Michael flew off with Jordan in mid October, and the show simply let them stay away while Port Charles burned without them.
Michael and Jordan Return Wednesday to a Setback in Germany
Michael took Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) to the clinic in Baden-Baden on October 14 for treatment on her scars, the same place that helped him after his own burns. We dug into what Jordan is hiding in Baden-Baden last month, and on Wednesday, November 4, she faces a setback in that treatment.
Whether the setback keeps them overseas is still an open question. If I know these writers, a crisis far from home is exactly where a friendship turns into something neither one planned. Keep an eye on our General Hospital spoilers for the next two weeks for where Michael and Jordan land next.

Michael Comes Back to a Family in Crisis
Michael’s timing could not be worse. His mother, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), was arrested on November 2 alongside Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), and she spent Tuesday grilled over Charlotte’s bracelet. Does Michael even know yet? Don’t be surprised if that phone call from home is the next thing to land on him.
His business has had company while he was away, too. Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger) slid Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) a form that would have handed over Michael’s proxy at Deception, with Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) pushing from behind the scenes. Jason read the fine print, and the Deception grab fizzled. With Rory Gibson locked in, somebody will have to explain who has been touching Michael’s shares.

Port Charles Keeps Its Michael
The rumor is dead, the man is on contract, and Michael is back on Wednesday with a woman in trouble and a mother in handcuffs. That is not a character being phased out. That is a character about to be very, very busy.
Our money says Carly’s arrest pulls Michael home before Jordan is ready to leave. Head over to our Facebook page and tell us what you want him to find first.
