GH’s Nina Reeves Is Finally Out Of Her Cuffs, So Why Is Sonny Corinthos Being Fitted For Them?
GH’s Nina Reeves may soon walk free of her cuffs, but with Ava and Drew still loose, is Sonny Corinthos next in line to be accused?
NINA REEVES MAY FINALLY HAVE THE WSB DOUBTING ITSELF
TL;DR: GH’s Nina Reeves may soon find relief from being locked up for the one crime she never committed, now that the WSB admits it rushed to judgment. The walls should be closing in on Ava Jerome and Drew Cain, so why are all fingers pointing at Sonny Corinthos to be next? Will Nina’s cuffs end up on Sonny, another innocent man?

The Wrong Woman Is Wearing The Cuffs
Nina Reeves is the only person in Port Charles paying for the one crime she never committed, and the man who put her there has started to sweat. William Baines sat down across from a handcuffed, disheveled Nina at the WSB holding site and admitted, “Apparently, we may have rushed to judgment.” For a spy agency, that is basically a singing telegram of an apology.
The walls should be closing in on Ava Jerome and Drew Cain, and Ava can feel the plaster moving. Joe Fitzpatricknow has an active case file, courtesy of Dante Falconeri ignoring Baines’s order to stay out, and Joe’s theory is blunt: Ava was the last person with Jack Brennan. Baines cornered her by the elevators to ask about that last night and promised the WSB would be in touch soon. Her flashback to Curtis becoming collateral damage in the attack she and Drew orchestrated did nothing for her poker face.

Sonny Already Knows What A Frame Feels Like
Sonny has the most dangerous reputation in town right now, because everyone already believes the worst. Sonny Corinthos is wearing the Pentonville beating of Curtis Ashford and Sidwell, an attack Ava’s own memory proves she and Drew orchestrated. He tracked down Alexis Davis to ask why she stayed silent, and she admitted she doesn’t want to know whether he did it, though she hopes he’s innocent. Sonny vowed to prove it.
Not everyone is so sure. Gio Palmieri wonders whether the family was too quick to decide Sonny was guilty, while Curtis stays convinced and Dante braces for his son’s heartbreak. A man who has already been fitted for one frame is awfully easy to fit for a second. If Ava and Drew need a fresh name for the Jack file, they won’t have to shop around. Would they really point the same finger twice? Given how well it worked the first time, would you bet against it?

Ava Has A Favor And A Phone
Ava is not waiting around for her WSB invitation. She once wished she had heeded Nina Reeves’s warnings about Drew, but wishing hasn’t stopped her from standing at the bar in the Port Charles Grill, watching Drew and Scout Cainremember Sam, and calling Alexis to announce she’s collecting on a favor. Nobody knows what that favor is, and the Wednesday preview has Ava lawyering up.
A lawyer can’t change what Ava did, but a lawyer can change who looks guilty. Is that the favor? Alexis has already said she’d rather not know what Sonny did, so how will she feel about knowing what Ava needs?

One Cuff, Two Innocent Wrists
If the handcuffs come off Nina Reeves, will they click shut on Sonny? Neither of them touched Jack. Nina took the fall because a wallet landed in the wrong car, and Sonny could take the fall because the town keeps a villain on file for him. It’s soap symmetry at its cruelest: two people punished for crimes that belong to Ava and Drew, while the actual culprits sip their drinks and plan their next move.
Baines has admitted one rush to judgment. Will anyone in Port Charles slow down before the next one?

Who Wears The Cuffs Next?
Nina Reeves has waited long enough for someone to say the truth out loud, and Sonny deserves a town that checks before it accuses. The only people who profit from another wrong arrest are the ones who caused the first.
