The Days of Our Lives recap September 21, 2026 opens on a man with a fortune on his phone and nowhere to spend it. Philip Kiriakis flew back from Monte Carlo, kissed Gabi Hernandez goodbye in the square and went to the Kiriakis mansion to celebrate with Xander Kiriakis and Maggie Kiriakis. He found it dark and cleared out, with Justin Kiriakis walking through it one last time.

Justin told him the house was already sold. Philip had every dollar he needed to pay EJ DiMera off. Then he found his own text, the one saying do not sell, sitting on his phone unsent. He was late by one message.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Philip Kiriakis Showed Xander Kiriakis the Winnings

Xander got there to find Philip had nearly finished the champagne. “I got the money, Xander,” he said, and Xander read it as drunk before noon. So Philip held up the phone, and Xander swung him around the empty room.

One time, one win, legal and fair, Philip promised. Whether that money ever reaches the Titan loan is a sentence the episode did not write. Later they took the house in one last time, said thank you out loud and turned the lights off.

Brady Black and Xander Kiriakis Closed Ranks Around Sarah Horton

Earlier at the pub, Brady Black and Xander worked through EJ’s return. Both expect EJ to aim at Sarah Horton first. Brady said the two of them will keep her safe, which went down with Xander about as well as you would think.

Then they turned to what ties Dominic Marino to Stefano DiMera. Xander has been digging and found nothing bad about the man. Put that against what Marlena Evans did with the same puzzle on Friday. One man with contacts found nothing. One widow with a photograph found something.

What Happened to the Kiriakis Mansion on Days of Our Lives?

It sold, and Philip got there a day late to stop it. The buyer named on screen back in August was Dominic Marino, which is why Brady and Xander were trying to work out who he is.

Nobody has put these two side by side. Two men spent the afternoon agreeing to build a wall around Sarah, and the blow that reached her that night came from a grieving family instead of EJ. Justin handed out reassurance twice that day, and both promises rest on something that has not happened yet.

Gabi rang Theo Carver about the knockoffs eating her label and got nowhere. Theo told her he had quit DiMera, so he has no inside left to work from. She pivoted and offered him a job at Gabi Chic instead. He said he would think about it, which in this town is usually yes with a delay attached.

Before that, Alex Kiriakis stopped Theo out on a run near the pub and did not love the condolences about Joy Wesley. Stephanie Johnson had told him. Alex said the marriage is rough but they will get through it. Justin later found him at the nurses’ station and promised the year written into the agreement will go fast if they follow it to the letter.

Joy Wesley Said Yes to the Test and Then Made a Phone Call

Sarah finished Joy’s reflex tests with no change and wanted another one. Joy balked, so Sarah told her about her own paralysis and how long it took to come back from it.

Then Alex arrived with Kelsey Kiriakis and asked her to do it in a way that was not really an ask. It worked, and the second the room emptied, Joy looked up the nerve conduction study on her phone. Later she called her father, Craig, said everything was great and asked him to send the muscle relaxers she used on an old back injury. The show drew no line between those calls, so neither will we.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Kayla Johnson Called Sarah Horton at Home

Sarah got home to Brady wrung out and did not make it through the door before her phone went. Kayla Johnson was calling to say Destiny’s parents were filing a wrongful death suit against the hospital and against Sarah herself.

Nothing was served on screen and no papers appeared. It lands on the one doctor in Salem who spent this month making enemies over a separate letter to the FDA. Two fires, one woman.
