A Quiet Goodbye in Los Angeles

Sir Patrick Stewart has died at the age of 86. His family shared the news on Instagram, saying he passed away on Wednesday, October 28, in Los Angeles, with his wife, Sunny Ozell, caring for him at the end.

The family says he had been living with Alzheimerโ€™s disease along with Lewy body dementia, and that the illness was brief. In his final days, loved ones gathered around him with music, prayer, laughter, and tears, and they say they will always remember how peaceful he looked.

In place of flowers, they are asking for donations to an Alzheimerโ€™s research fund at Johns Hopkins and to caregiver resources through the Alzheimerโ€™s Foundation of America.
