PHYLLIS SUMMERS LOSES DANIEL ROMALOTTI AND STILL BELIEVES SHE DESERVES A STANDING OVATION

TL;DR: On February 24’s Young and the Restless, Phyllis Summers storms into Crimson Lights demanding to be “canonized” for her corporate takeover, but Daniel Romalotti tells her she’s gone too far, rejects her version of success, and walks out with Tessa Porter. Sharon Newman‘s silent glare seals Phyllis’s total isolation.

A Mother Walks In Expecting Gratitude and Gets a Goodbye Instead

There is a certain kind of confidence that only Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) possesses. The kind where you chloroform a man, steal an entire corporation, carve it up like it belongs to you, and then march into a coffee shop expecting your son to throw you a parade.

That is exactly what went down on Monday’s Young and the Restless.

Phyllis rolled into Crimson Lights already seething because Summer won’t even return her calls. Her own daughter refuses to see her. So what does Phyllis do with that rage? She aims it directly at Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), who was having a quiet moment playing guitar with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). A peaceful scene. A brief escape from the chaos. And then his mother blew through the door like a wrecking ball with a grudge.

“I Should Be Canonized” — The Line That Changed Everything

Phyllis Summers didn’t walk in apologizing. She didn’t walk in with questions. She walked in insisting she had been “brilliant and courageous.” She actually said — to her own son’s face — that she should be canonized for what she’s done.

Canonized. Like a saint.

This is a woman who seized Newman Enterprises through what Victoria Newman has called illegal methods. She chloroformed Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). She transferred Newman Entertainment to herself, handed Newman Media to Sally, and gave Chancellor to Billy. All without permission. All while claiming it was for her family.

Daniel was done pretending to believe her.

Daniel Romalotti Draws the Line His Mother Never Thought He Would

The thing about Daniel is that he warned her. Back on February 5, he told Phyllis point blank that he would cut her out of his life if she didn’t return Newman Enterprises. She didn’t listen. She never does.

So when Phyllis Summers stood there demanding recognition for the chaos she created, Daniel Romalotti told her she had gone too far. He said he doesn’t want her version of success. Then he walked out. With Tessa. He chose the company of a friend dealing with her own heartbreak — Mariah filing for divorce — over staying in the same room as his own mother.

That is not a fight. That is a fracture.

Sharon Newman’s Glare Was Worth a Thousand Words

Then came the moment that sealed Phyllis‘s nightmare. Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) walked in after Daniel left and delivered a glare so cold it could freeze the coffee machines.

No words. No lecture. Just a look that said everything it needed to say. Sharon and Phyllis had built a fragile truce after being kidnapped together in early 2025. That truce died the second Phyllis went after the Newman family. Sharon declared it over back on February 1, and this glare was the final punctuation.

Phyllis stood there alone. Son gone. Daughter unreachable. Rival staring her down in silence.

What’s Next for Phyllis Summers and Daniel Romalotti?

Could this mean Daniel‘s break from Phyllis goes from emotional to strategic? Don’t be surprised if Cane pulls Daniel deeper into an alliance against his own mother. Spoilers hint that Cane makes a confession to Phyllis on February 26, and that could signal the empire crumbling from the inside out.

Given Phyllis‘s history, she won’t go quietly. Something tells me she’ll pivot to guilt and fear as her last remaining weapons. But with Summer refusing contact and Daniel walking away, who is left to manipulate?

Phyllis Summers built an empire to prove she was the hero. The family just told her they don’t want to be in her story anymore.
